You clearly got a bad match-up vs someone ADAD spamming. I'm gonna let you cool off before I continue this conversation.
Oh no by all means it's not an exploit it's just an unintended networking flaw that players are using to gain an undesigned advantage over other players.
It wont. As long as the strafe speed is at its current level while in their firing stance this will just allow players to ADAD spam their way to victory. I mean there's a dodge button for a reason. Player movement momentum (Which UE4 supports) would alleviate this.
since when is tapdancing a tactic? since when is tapdancing being a tactic not considered bad design?
Id agree with this if there wasn't a tiny exploit regarding strafing where you can cancel your momentum. See, normally when you start strafing there's a brief period where your character accelerates to their top strafing speed. And normally switching directions requires decelerating and accelerating again. But there's an exploit where you can cancel all the acceleration and just swap top speed left and top speed right with correct timing. This gives a little bit of an unfair advantage to tacticals/shoots/dire avengers. But besides that, yes, OP needs to get good
I never understood this complaint as someone who has been playing TPS games for so long. You need to strafe and you need to learn how to aim. My only problem though is that it's far more effective in EC but it's only an eyesore of a problem on eldar but they're fast so yea. As someone stated already the netcode is pretty meme with it and you could also slap on that latency for the lesser beings this is aids. Majority of the people I see strafing aren't doing it correctly and aren't accomplishing much I've so far only ran into two people who actually strafe and don't just twitch left and right like a dumbass. I guess since I pretty much exclusively play havoc and been messing with melee units I don't struggle as much as a lot of people.
This sounds more like an oversight but a lot of games don't really bother with it usually because the speed isn't as fast but you still get the benefits of strafing which is making headshots harder for your enemy. I can see them adding a deceleration if you swap but it shouldn't bring you to a full stop or slow you down to a crawl. I can see eldar suffering the most though if they did make it crippling.
