So the last twitch hinted that an additional basic class is in the works. It has me interested as to what that could be, and how they will function. Thoughts being that it'll be Techmarines and their equivalents to help usher in the upcoming tank battles and help infantry survive against Elites. They may also be able to replenish a Tanks Ammo. But that has me curious, there's Techmarines, Mechboyz, Warpsmiths.... And then... Eldar? There's really 2 classes that I can think of: Bonesingers and Spiritseers. But Bonesingers aren't a combat class. And well... Spiritseers.... Could at least in theory heal tanks from a distance. Oh god.... My throbbing desires..... I've waited so long to be my chosen class....
With Tanks getting their own line of customization, I think people will start manning turrets more often. Experienced players definitely know the value of a good tank. You may have to round up some friends or join a guild to get that though. Especially if you're LSM.
I was under the impression Eldar were getting the Ranger and that was it? I recall Techmarines were confirmed by Nathan but far away.
Wasn't this confirmed in the pre-Christmas Twitch to be Shining Spears for Eldar because of bikes? They flat mentioned them only because Brent wants bikes in.
I think the words used (without going back and watching) was that it would be "fairly obvious" to what they'd be. As I recall, Rangers are Elite classes. And that's honestly probably a good thing: It's a Stealth Character with a Sniper Rifle. It doesn't get more aggravating than a character that has every reason to pitch a tent someplace you'll never know about until it's too late, especially since that moment may be 1000m away. And bikes? Well. I think the vast consensus atm is that bikes would serve little purpose on our current maps. I think the only thing they'd really impact is: Attackers Being able to relentlessly assault a point: Blackbolt Medusa Maggon Sieges But that's roughly the same argument about tank warfare. They'll need bigger maps as well. Which leaves the question.... Are bikes an item or a class? If it's a class, it's only effective on certain maps. Say what you will about bE, but I don't see them wasting an entire class to be used for certain maps. Basics have the purpose of being useful on every map, and they are. So it leads me to think bikes are an item/vehicle or something like that. ... Which then points back to the best person to repair/care all these new armored vehicles on the map.
Hmmm, techmarine, give me a damn towel for the emperor's sake, i'm drooling like a freaking Great Dane here.
That was Outcast Ranger-RTC elite class, he meant RTC elites back then. Now, regarding Eldar, maybe it won't be same archetype at all? We all know Eldar don't have combat "engineer" as other factions do, so we might get something else. Given the fact that TEC should arrive soon-ish, Spirit Seer makes most sense, maintaining wraithbone constructs. Thing with that is, it would be another full-blown support, so maybe it could have some special version of destructor, which would be of use on longer range then 10m? Depending how much freedom bE would be given, Spiritseer could be vehicle support/longer range psycher.
If we can road kill with jetbike the game is just going to turn into a cheese factory. Well, it already kind of is but now in industrial proportions. Maybe that was the plan all along, to hit the cheese market.
