the ballistic model in this game isnt even remotely realistic enough to justify using proper shooting techniques even then power armor has targetting enhancers, the armor locks so you shoot steadily, the machine spirit in the gun might be extra on point that particular day so you want realism but not the realism according to what the races are capable of in the setting they're inhabiting, but realism according to modern day humans using modern day equipment also who's excited for quake champions i know i am
I can respect that. I jumped off the CoD bandwagon after BLOPS and moved onto Battlefield. Was similarly disappointed with the fate of MoHW, but those were the dark days of EA. If you haven't heard of it yet, you should check out Squad. If you like Arma, Squad fits neatly into the same genre, if a bit less heavy on the complexity. http://joinsquad.com
If you wanted to go for the lore aproach, the whole recoil accuracy reduction would need to go. (C)SM have armour stabilisers that counteract recoil for most of their weapons, with a few exceptions like Storm Bolter, that requires a terminator armour to totally negate the fierce recoil. Eldar weapons do not have much of a recoil for most part, or have compensators if they do. Ork weapons are never accurate to begin with! JUST SPRAY EM WIV DAKKA BOYZ! So orks would need to be inaccurate but "get lucky random spray" all the time, and the others just have a steady good aim for the most part. That would be the lore.
Power armor wont stop recoil, it will reduce it to acceptable lvls, but wont negate it completely... terminator with storm bolter is just accurate enough not pinpoint accurate, assault cannon due to rotating barrels actually produces less recoil thus being more accurate. Oh and one of power(and terminator) armor functions is locking movement to help with recoil.
Have you actually tried doing it yourself Njord ? I ask this because it is not as easy as it might look. you can't really go full Yolo while adad strafing and just spray and pray outside of a couple of meters range i'd say about 20 ish M CQC barrel range oddly enough, and also kind of close the domain of melee players. where ranged can absolutely do damage to melee folk before they get into range by just spraying in their general direction. beyond that range however just spraying is way to inaccurate while moving even with movement stock to compete with someone who is taking aim at my head and shooting me in it .. well you can but than you taking accurate shots at my head would win for sure because even ur misses at the head can still land as body shots while my shots would just fly by you left and right thanks to the bloom of the weapon, accuracy is set to 2 while moving 1 with stock if i'm not mistaken and with 0.25 SIPS of a bolter that grows quite a bid quite fast. At some decant range while strafing the best way to shoot is still taking those same aimed shots or bursts while aiming down sight or even scope.. but than while also moving, and this becomes exponentially harder if the opponent also does the adad dance. There still is a certain level of marksmanship involved.
Bunny hopping literally ruined SWAT in Halo for me way back in the day, it's just so silly. The strafing issue hasn't been as prevalent to me in this game...until today when I had the misfortune to play against most likely the biggest exploit-using, cheese-abusing, self-glorifying douchebag I didn't even know existed... but I'm not gonnna name names for obvious reasons
I like Battlefield as well, but it isn't my favorite. TF2 is probably my favorite that allows it. Anyway, ADAD doesn't bother me. If it was removed, my requirement would be flawless cover system and flawless camera (walls, especially corners; ceiling for jpa). Also, none of those spots in the ground that stop you from moving (because we're talking about slowing down sideways acceleration, which is probably what I would use to get around them). Why do I need those things first? Because ADAD covers up some of the other problems for me. I can run into close range and shoot instead of getting annoyed with the cover system.
