I dont think anyone holds the illusion that any of this is realistically feasible.

True, however, a lot of his stuff boils down to "It's not Tabletop". This is another reason I think multi player focused 40k shooters have been avoided. (Space Marine was a single player game with the token MP tacked on and I don't think Fire Warrior had MP) The TT purist crowd would complain when sacrifices are made for the balance of a different genre.

Actually we'll avoid them. Just like Marvel Heroes (a diablo clone) I only played that because it had Iron Man, and when I realized the game was a WORSE example of Diablo I quit.

FPS generally aren't my thing, but WH40K is, and I spend money. Not free to play. I'm NOT looking for the next big thing for free.

I want to kill the Emperor's enemy's with extreme prejudice, and would prefer NOT to fall pray to a bunch of douche baggery just because it CAN be done.

But hell, as long as they don't count my deaths at the end of the day I have a 50/50 chance of getting my sticky bomb on the bastard whose ADADing...so

Well, considering that exact lack of 40k shooters, it's no surprise that people compare this game to the primary property that it takes direct inspiration from.

That proves nothing other than that Dev is a douche bag as well.

  6. Actually smart ass ADAD strafing does nothing vs melee but ensure you're not moving away from your melee opponent while ADAD strafing.

Ideally vs a melee opponent you want to be backpedaling away or rolling away while firing or intermittently firing. If you're ADAD strafing vs a charging melee opponent you're an idiot. ADAD does NOTHING vs melee except ensuring you're not keeping your melee opponent at distance so your obligatory claim of "nerfing ranged to dust" is completely false.

ADAD is garbage and bad for ranged vs ranged because it basically puts the player that's behind cover, firing from a stationary position using proper marksmanship techniques at a disadvantage vs an opponent that's in the open ADAD strafing. So in a Bolter vs Bolter encounter you're fine with EC's cover system being totally obsolete vs this ADAD bullshit?

I must agree with you now that i clearly understand your point yes, to just walk left and right while holding the trigger is in fact bad as it rewards you for doing cheap stuff and yes i do think as well that taking diferent stances (crouching and etc) its better as it values tactical decisions and skilled gameplay rather than "the guy that killed me did that, so it must work!"

But at the same time wouldnt there be an issue with that? im not too lore savy on w40k so correct me if im wrong but most battles tend to be extremely fast paced brutal /shooting/melee/artillery and whatever else is there, its pure carnage where your brutality is rewarded but then again i am aware too that a space marine cant just charge in battle by himself, you cant just tank an eldar rifle shot to the head and all that other stuff, what im talking about is the big crusade/waaagh like battle, were there is countless soldiers on both sides when both armies clash you know? it could be that they wanted the gameplay somehow like that (but the game never became open world so rip 2k players vs 2k players, that would be dope)

The issue of ADAD comes with that style of gameplay of course, i have 1000+ hours on a game called APB reloaded and oh boy.. that game the combat is divided 60% on your skill and 40% how crazy can you move so i know how much of a pain in the ass that can be, a good solution i see is to add 2 things:

1st would be that everyone ADADs like devastator, that you dont just stay in a set speed but you gotta acelerate for it

2nd is to give better options to fire from cover, currently what we got in a crouch cover is to expose half of your body and in a wall is expose yourself entirely, other options as to incline yourself to left and right or just blindly shoot (with insane spread of course) to give team mates cover and other stuff like that

Seriously though, I never actually said anything about strafing being good against melee. All I said was it sounded like another "NERF RANGE" thread. Because removing (or changing strafing to be way slower) is doing exactly that.
