Actual guild combat standards?

Wonder if guild leaders will evetually get to go into battle flying a banner with their guilds heraldry on it. Dunno if that works with marines though since they have standard bearers instead of a flag on their back.

New guild related melee class? The standard bearer. Uses the flag to beat people to death just like in classic halo maybe?
  2. Actually they'd have either a pistol or melee weapon in their offhand. Preferably the ability to maglock either weapon and switch between pistol and melee.

And FYI these types of standards can be done in 3rd person games without totally obscuring your view. There are flag/standard bearers in Mount and Blade Warband/Napoleonic and you're view isn't blocked any more than the full left 1/3 of your screen that's blocked when you use a Heavy Bolter(that's NOT deployed) on a Devastator.

I'd rock a Standard in one hand and a shield in the other in a heartbeat. That'd be my loadout of choice, if I could take it.
  4. Oi, we need dis! 'Ow else is da gobs wot got stopped s'posed ta know it were Da Gobstoppaz wot stopped'em?
