Why is everything hyperbolic with you? Can you not understand what a tweak is? I didn't even say anything about changing Powerfists other than making them Vet only for both GA/JPA classes. Just because someone thinks a gun or weapon is too good doesn't mean they want it nerfed into the ground, stop being a drama queen.
Give it a rest guys, it is clearly a divisive issue with no easy answer. I encourage you to read the article about balance I've linked and at least gain a better understanding of the struggle that we are facing with these issues. For now having an open enough mind to acknowledge that fact that the AC is relied on to the exclusion of many other weapons should be enough to seek change, every weapon is supposed to bring a specific tool set to the game. No one weapon should do it all like the AC does. However on the flip side, there are ways to counter AC... granted these counters are also overused and over relied on weapons as well. I think the important thing here is to realize no one is trying to take away chao's toys, but there is a drive to find a better way to utilize the armory.
I don't JPA and I like swords better. I do use fist but mainly for knocking out vehicles. If you see me running around in fists bashing people it means you are not killing me fast enough Infidels. How I counter ACs: 1. Heavy bolter suppress. This is the most straight forward way and "hip firing" an HB on the move could at least get that AC un-braced, so your teammates could at least do something. 2. Sneak up through a different route to smack him. AC makes a very distinguishable firing firing noise that wouldn't be missed. I also routinely sweep possible firing points before getting into any point. From the back door. 3. If faced and unavoidable, double roll right into him and not away. We all know havoc is shit in melee and even tactical units could kill them. Close the range with 2 rolls so you won't be downed before getting there.
Not bad advice, but also nothing that you wouldn't do vs any dug in position. I personally pack a PC loadout just for Chaos and Orks these days, as long as I can slow crawl time out the shots to peekaboo around a corner and get them before they tap me twice it's fine. End of the day though, there's something wrong with either AC or HB when you never see HB's on CSM because everyones too busy stacking AC. Why worry about suppression when you can straight up get the kill in the same time frame or less. We could buff the HB but then you buff the HB on LSM side too. Do they need it as well? I don't know, probably wouldn't mind it. But I don't really want to go back to HB murder spam that we had months ago either. For the record I had no issue with Abaddons Grace burn either, it was negligible because the AC killed you in 2 hits pretty much all the time regardless of pitiful burn damage. I don't know why people singled it out when it was just AC's period that can murder you.
Serious question, why don't people use suppression weapons more often? I like the HB, and also the Ork Big Shoota is one of my favorite guns. Maneuverable and suppressive, and of course deadly.
What you're sayin makes sense. But then i think Lascannon is actually the closest it gets to sniper weapons for LSM/CSM in terms of range, accuracy and sheer damage.
Becuase why suppress someone for 3 seconds when you can just annihilate them before reaction time? :/
Why don't we boost the dmg on stalkers by say 30pts"randomly choosing numbers" and increase autocannon inaccuracies by 5% that way it evens out both weapons. Lore speaking a bolt round can possibly decapitate a sm helm reguardless. So don't get me started on what a AC round can do. It's called ballencing
