Ace Dakka - The Ork Autocannon

    But seriously; every faction has something that 1 shots tanks in this buggy fashion.

    Bad physics can't be blamed on the orks!
    We do have a lot of weapons with explosive properties that capitalise on this bug - but it's not something I like happening; fire, reload, spend 20 secs looking for tank..
    Tanks gone, everyone inside is dead, and I got no points!
    Maybe I'm just unlucky and it's the fellow firing after me that hits a home run and gets the points!
    Either way though; it's a bug which the devs know needs fixing and we all want fixing

    you have to admit those things are GLARINGLY obvious though and tend to overshadow a weapon that's working as intended but over performs slightly ? I'de be willing to bet people that use the ace dakka and have proficiency do better than Kannon users but it doesn't STAND OUT in the sea of getting killed by things that make no sense or don't even show up on your screen...... you just think "well at least it wasn't a kannon killing me before it shows the projectile" or "A kannon killing me WHILE im landing a melee hit and the ork surviving" ..... im just saying the glaring stuff is obfuscating deeper balance issues ... people in the know on LSM also realize that Krak bundle and mercury pattern right now are worth WAY more than their LP cost ..... but everyone HATES apoths .... so its not like orks are the only one suffering the obfuscation. I cant imagine what it feels like to be an elder and come around a corner and get marked by a servo skull and hit by a 3 shot burst from either mercury pattern ... the pistol or rifle, or someone using the stalker as a magnum.

    Time and again I have suggested situational modifiers to balance the guns but time and again they ignore me and they keep dialing the base damage back and forth in an endless repeat of the same clown fiesta.

    Generally ive gone pretty in depth with analysis and has as of yet to miss a projected meta, I've been at this a while before EC and quite frankly as TPS goes EC is still an infant and very simple for tactics and mechanics.

    to me the devs seem to miss the idea of "moments of power" and instead make guns that are powerful or not powerful as opposed to guns/situations/class mechanics that make someone "the most powerful" but only in their situation, and while not in their situation they seek to create their situation .... League of Legends uses this concept to great effect if Vlad is in blood rage you back away, but if he isn't and you land some setup move you get to be the bully ...... this concept needs to get worked into this game in spades .... TF holding a yellow card would be another example of give and take in an engagement.

    things like giving ground assault a juggernaut ish charge, or tactical a warshout that enhances nearby allies, all things on a CD that make them powerful for a few seconds that you have to capitalize on .... or when they wear off you are exposed and weaker than your enemy who can now exert their influence ....

    Keep playing, you'll understand why we don't much care for it. Mostly it's the fact that once you have the Klaw, anything between the standard Choppa and the Klaw becomes pretty useless. All those weapons have the same attack speed as the Klaw, without the added benefits. So you go from fast attacks so slow as zog without much good reason. Our Electric Axe literally lost all point as the extra pen just didn't justify the extra point cost or the slow attack speed. That's a good reason to be annoyed in my opinion. Plus the animations are bugged and our swings don't allow us the same forward movement like it affords all the other Factions.

    I can't disagree, it makes things seem worse than they are.
    Plus it's been going on a long time - I'm sure there's a band aid fix that could be applied to prevent this issue without even having to mess with the actual physics - or maybe they can't switch of sections of physics effects on singular entities. I don't know!
    But yes -glaringly obvious and going on for a long time now..

    Please fix this shit!!

    I personally just don't find it that annoying though - in a game where a little orange fella can kill your tank in the blink of an eye anyway; it's just something to chuckle about.

    I certainly don't blame the weapons that cause it even when I do get annoyed (and I do get annoyed after the fourth trukk I parked up disappears after I just step out of it!)

    I just wish people would get annoyed at the physics rather the weapon that initiated said physics. But I do understand the frustration and how it can be easy to vent at the wrong thing

    Sure, increase recoil of most ork weapons to be far worse than the other factions (which all have minimum recoil) in the name of lore, but then give the orks at LEAST twice the firerate to compensate. Don't just give orks worse versions of everything. They already have lots of that.

    Honestly, in the current metagame I don't think there is anything easier to play than a Slaanesh autocannon. I win everytime against Ace Dakka with it, or indeed against everything. You're Eldar fast, you're on a marine body which is so much smoother and bug free compared to the loota, you can use cover effectively, you drop down after jumping over a railing almost instantly, and you've more damage output. It's an incredible ride, without being OP like the plasma cannon of old was in its handling. Still, it's incredibly strong, and I felt it was necessary to say that in comparison with Ace dakka.

    But whatever, orks should be lousy with ranged I guess? Like how it's the by far worst faction at melee right now too. I think that's the purpose of this thread? I mean, you are all aware, of course, that NO SINGLE WEAPON in the game has been nerfed as many times as the Ace dakka has, and here we are again suggesting nerfing it even more.

    Im not talking about me specifically, im not angry specifically at the kannon, ive been in beta's and quasi game development/early access for a long time I even programmed some of a mud back in the internet text entertainment days .... my problem is with the general design, and design strategy. I have been really pushing hard to educate myself on game design lately its something very interesting to me. Someone posted Extra credits up here on the forums and after I got a taste I pretty much binge watch anything I can on the subject. Because ive basically been doing it, as a beta tester for a long time .... im finally hearing things ive been saying making their way into the mainstream of game development. Not everyone gets the memo though.

    Im upset from a "but why cant we make the classes more definitive" why cant we open up more of the weapons and have the "Classes use them differently", why don't we have standard TPS elements like cover deny weapons on almost every class it can make sense on ? I get that wacky stuff happens ive been watching the game from the founder era but didn't have the cash to drop until steam earliest access. ...

    Ive been there on the forums for the birth of tribes/tribes2/warframe ..... some of the stuff I wanted got implemented in those games .... warframe is very successful now ... tribes and tribes 2 are getting older, and don't really have a following anymore ... Global agenda was pretty good for a while I worked on their forums in a armchair dev capacity .... its just sad to see so many great ideas even from other players I may or may not agree with being wholesale ignored or avoided ... I haven't even been rude or negative to the devs when proposing ideas or solutions, I even got the chance to talk to micheal chan once .... we talked a lot about RoF recoil and the AG problem .... they didn't use my solution, and they ignored the ace dakka .... and they still have blanket complaints all across the forums .... I was talking to them about "virtual TTK" right ? everyone talks about the ACTUAL time to kill of the DPS pitted against the armor or toughness .... but no one talks about the TTK from having to reorient the gun to continue dps ... the AC and Dakka could have easily been balanced if their gun kicked around like the HB(unbraced)did pre 1.3 and actually bounced off silloutte and required a reorientation to get the rest of that dps ....     so that the AC could still put out its "incredible damage" but would have a hard time focusing individual infantry targets and be better for firing into groups to cause lots of damage allowing other players with more precise shooting weapons to finish the kill .... The game is too designed around "can I solo this" as opposed to group combat. they pretty much just ignored me and hit it with the nerf bat .......

    not to mention the devs are going to dumb down melee soon and i doubt they're going to actually fix half the weapons in it, git prod still shit in durability even thoug space marines got a chainsword and mauls that has the same gimick but without the durability reduction, axes and clubs for everyone (especially orks because devs decided to give a melee race slower attack speed than marines, as well as shorter lunges and range in attacks and d-bashes), and the fact that orks arn't the fastest at moving over cover or smoothly in general because they still havnt looked at our animation issues. And people wonder why alot of orks are Green Tau right now...

    You gotta understand Sickytoof, complaining about Orks is the "in" thing to do now. And many of them are probablyl new too. They weren't there from the pre-beginning like us, they don't get that we've had to fight an uphill battle this entire time against buggy weapons, animations, and mechanics. They don't get that most of the Orks have been in this same uphill battle, and learned to GIT GUD with nearly nothing. Now that we're more balanced, we're OP. So they'll complain until we're the bolter-fodder of Lore to make themselves feel better.

    Honestly, is there anything that non-Ork players DON'T complain about these days? They complain our guns are too strong because they can kill at a reasonable rate, they complain our melee is too good BECAUSE we're bugged, they complain we're too tough even though they're either super-fast or bedecked in tank armor. For me it's getting to the point of maddening. You'd think we'd be utterly unbeatable from what they have to say.

    @TheMadnesss Tau is the only functionality they have. They just have to nerf the burny choppa to seal the deal forever.
