Then what would be the point of the 100 point additional cost? Also, what would the point of it being a unique be?
Being an autocannon is unique in and of itself since orks have no standard autocannons, it's a modified (unique) dakka defgun. Removing the suppression and putting it's recoil/sips to that of a MC AC wouldn't make it any less unique in that regard.
You can do basically the same thing with a normal AC. http://imgur.com/a/SkKez That was earlier today for me, its not an unusual or "overt" scoreline. It was literally just using an AC on fortress defense you get super inflated score lines. I could have done comparably with a heavy bolter, dakka deffgun, or similar. Its just about knowing the right map positions to exploit and spraying things down accurately. The Ace Dakka is just another AC but it has supression costs more, and is on an Ork. Its not really "that out there". Its certainly a strong weapon, it probably shouldn't have supression but its not something otherwordly or unbeatable. Nearly every faction can compete with the AC and what it does, or directly counter it sometimes both. The Ace Dakka is no exception to the AC formula.
My opinion on the matter is that its just hidden behind the kannon most non ork players are complaining about the kannon not so much that it one shots but that it frequently leaves no projectile path and is incredibly accurate and also its disturbing(bug ?) that it can be shot at appoint blank range and sometimes the ork will walk away with 0 damage despite being in the one shot kill radius ..... I think much like the plasma cannon / Abbadons grace you have a weapon hiding behind another "worse" weapon ... I think the ace dakka probably gets higher kill counts and does even more work than the kannon does .... but it seems more "fair" to the recently deceased as they at least feel they "could have seen the shot or reacted" with the kannon 9/10 it doesn't even explode on your screen until after you are dead .... and that's coming from someone with 20-40 round trip ping .... I don't think its a latency issue I really think under conditions the projectile is never rendered or rendered poorly a few times I have seen the kannon rounds render as a small red baseball sized projectile with rocket cloud behind it .... this leads me to believe it is related to the path actually being rendered. I do think the Ace dakka is just as imbalanced at the AC was pre nerf .... I specifically mentioned it in a large thread discussing the guns and their imbalance ..... Im not a huge fan of the Ork plasma dakka that can 2 shot you with snap shots either ... I have many a time ambushed a heavy weapon's only to get dbashed and intagibbed by the "weakest melee class" the orks have. I do feel for Orks though the claw was so bad for so long, their melee attacks are still pretty clunky and whacky, ive actually been playing a lot of orks lately. But you will also see clanstacks using burny choppa on all their melee loadouts .... when weapons are getting picked that often it isn't because its super popular ..... its cause there is a problem ..... the necrotic knife and chainsword are just as bad. the old narthesium pre nerf was pretty stupid OP too ... im kinda glad that thing got nerfed. No one cares that much about the Ace dakka because they are all complainging about the kannon ... if the kannon gets nerfed they will remember the ace dakka im sure . Im also on a side not tired of having transports launched off the map by the pokkit rokkit, we lost 4 in one game on ellipsis yesterday .... full health transports one shotted by pokkit rokkits.
The plasma deffgun does not have snap shots. Full auto only, baby, dat's da ork way. Though, your experience with this does sound like my experience against the plasma cannon. Yeah, the problem is that the other choices are garbage, and so there is no choice. Well, that's like, a physics bug, not the weapon's fault. Can't be helped.
Ive been playing orks for a few weeks now during my testing time and I kill people just fine with the default choppa ..... the burny choppa is rediculious its mandatory for some Ork guild melee loadouts ... nothing the orks have as a main melee weapon is bad at all ..... they also have some very strong pistols ... not that that is unique to them or anything.
ALL ork weapons that go boom do this ... including the kannon im ok with it being a good av weapon ? one shotting the tank and everyone in it though ? from the front ? The pokkit rokkit was to emphasize the absurdity of it. IT IS most definitely a bug ..... but its making gameplay pretty crap for other factins playing against orks ... I cant imagine how the elder feel since their vehicles "sky suicide" on their own from time to time .... add in the orks using pistols to make it happen ... I bet its frustrating as hell.
