Before I got the Ace Dakka, I was actually using the Dakka Deffgun. Works fine for me. But the Plasma one just feels... so bad... I'm not sure what it's supposed to do, but I can't seem to get it to do anything.

Huh thats interesting, my favorite one is actually the plasma deffgun, i never liked stock because of the accurancy and time to kill, ace is fun to snipe, but on the heat of the battle i find the plasma deffgun more reliable to start shooting straight away or stuff like that

so your saying that unique weapons, the highest quality weapons in the game should not be better than standard quality weapons..... Even if that unique weapon is in fact just a rip off of another factions standard weapons The fact remains that Unique or Purples are supposed to be powerful and "rare"

The reason why you see so many ace dakkas out there is a basic flaw in the loot system in this game, Eventually every one will have every thing. Orks in particular have more veteran players percapita than the other factions, thus a unique weapon becomes not so rare.

I think we have empirically shown that its is at the least equal to a tier 2 (master crafted) weapon despite the fact that it is meant to be a tier above. That should be enough to end this debate. The ace Dakka should be better. If that is your argument than fine, your right and it is working as intended. But I think its rather obvious that its not better, its equal.

I don't know why every one seems to over value suppression, its not that strong and does not effect its offensive potential. Given the slow rate of fire its not really the weapon of choice for suppressing fire. If suppression was that good then why don't you use your heavy bolters more which are far superior to our dakka defgun. We could easily be making the same argument that the Heavy bolter should be nerfed because its more accurate and hits harder than the Dakka Defgun. But that would be dumb right?

Uniques were more meant to be sidegrades, but this is not always applicable. The Necrotic Chainsword for Chaos for example is just a straight upgrade. But then you have stuff like the Warp Furnace which is a sidegrade at best due to how fast it overheats and how awful the recoil is. Some unique weapons are absolute garbage as well, like the Snap Grav that has 4 more DPS than a modded Grav Gun (135 vs a normal's 131), costs 50 more LP than a fully modded Grav Gun, and overheats 3x as fast. An Ork example I can think of is the Git Prod. Great damage if you hit with it, but 25 durability makes it break like instantly.

The Ace Dakka is an example that has 20% the spread increase per shot of a Mastercrafted Autocannon, less recoil, 50% more ammo, has suppression, and kills in the same number of shots for the same price. The Ace Dakka also steps on the toes of the Plasma/Dakka Deffgun by suppressing. Changing from hail of lead to single shot alpha strike per round with slow rate of fire is enough of a sidegrade tbh.

Yes, I've learned to love and fear the ace dakka. I use it for my loota every time...honestly, just the suppression alone is worth it on an auto cannon. But it's pretty OP...I shot down a group of 4 guys all shooting at me in seconds the other day on Ronan. Literally, I had half health left and there were 4 dead marines at my feet. Felt cheesey for 4 seconds...

I'll still use it with impunity.

If Planetside 2 taught us something, there are no such thing as sidegrades, even though that's what they promised. I don't think sidegrades are even a possibility outside of simply making everything cosmetic reskins. Certain stats are more desirable than others, even if they come out to the same total stat "cost" as other weapons.

The kannon can presently one shot a vehicle due to bugs, and the kannon doesn't leave a trace path from its fire location ..... meaning you cant even tell where the orbit launching shot came from that just d/ced everyone in the transport from the game(yes it d/ces you for inactivity when it glitches bad enough). so yes the plamsa cannon cannot so either of these things and they in fact when they nerfed the PC nerfed its vehicle damage, its charged shot now does the same dps as its snap shot to a vehicle ..... which means it basically doesn't damage vehicles any more than a power sword does. The Kannon still does almost LC levels of damage per hit to a transport(though not as good against tanks i think due to pen)

Almost any weapon can one shot vehicles due to bugs, including but not limited to plasma guns, pistols, krak grenades, etc. It's a bug, it's not even remotely limited to the Kannon, the devs are aware of it and it's being fixed. It is not a valid point when discussing balance.

The term Unique applies best to the ace dakka for the ork arsenal, it is in fact unique compared to all other loota weapons. Thing is for orks they usually aren't side grades they are usually unique items with very situation use ie mostly useless. The two weapons that people complain about are the ones that are the exceptions to that rule. The Ace Dakka and the Burny choppa are actually usable in all circumstances.

People are comparing the Ace Dakka apples to apples to a lower tier weapon from another faction and complaining that its over powered. But you realize that this argument is basically just anti ork. If you think the ace dakka is op and the auto cannon is balanced just because of the lack of suppression, then you need to realize at this point that its a hugely flawed argument. If you removed the suppression it would just be a weaker version of the AC, and yet we would still use it because we don't care about the suppression. AND people would still complain that its too strong.

These arguments boil down to the fact that orks have a high win percentage and people don't like loosing. It doesn't however address the real reason why orks win. Its not gear, its not weapons, IT IS teamwork and co-ordination. I wont mention skill but I solo queue all the time as all faction and honestly the average pug ork seems to be higher quality because they just naturally play the game properly. I.E fight for the point, defend the points, kill vehicles and work together to do so. After orks I would say that CSM is the next best when it comes to that closely followed by eldar, and finally LSM which mostly seems like a bunch of people just ignoring the objectives and trying to kill things.

How would it be a weaker AC? It's the same price as a mastercrafted AC but with better stats? You get less than a quarter the spread increase per shot, have less recoil, 50% more ammo, and kill in the same number of shots against literally all targets.

The Autocannon and Ace Dakka TTK are listed in there. Compare the AC's TTK vs the Shoota and the Ace's TTK vs the Nurgle Traitor. Exactly the same for bodyshots, half the time for headshots (because no 1.5x headshot multiplier vs 2x). It's literally better in every single way than the MC AC statwise and costs the same. How is that a weaker version of the AC?

I'm not saying Orks are grossly OP, but there are outlier weapons. This, the Kannon, and the Big Shoota are the offenders. I say this as someone who exclusively uses the Big Shoota on Ork as it's one of the few weapons I enjoy. The thing is gross. The last damage buff it got was in no way warranted or necessary. As it stands it does more DPS than a Storm/Combibolter, suppresses, has more ammo, and costs 100LP less. The Big Shoota also does more DPS than the RODEO SHOOTA with less recoil, more ammo, and 50 less LP cost while suppressing. You're arguing uniques need to be powerful, but a base gun is outperforming a unique right here and you don't seem to have an issue with that for some reason. If they were to increase the LP cost on a Big Shoota by 100 honestly that might even be enough to bring it in line, but I personally feel it still might need more. Playing Shoota Boy vs any other Tactical equivalent is the easiest thing in this whole damn game because of this imo. I don't even have to try with the thing. The Kannon on the other hand I honestly don't even think is too gross, but also needs tweaking. Slow the projectile speed a little, don't instantly ragdoll but put people into a downed state instead like the PC does now. Maybe slightly increase the reload time.

This whole last paragraph isn't even really relevant to the topic of this thread though outside of the first line. The rest is just listing the outliers mentioned.
