How can you say the game is firmly good?

What is this suppose to mean?

Well, just updated my negative review. Back to planetside 2!
  3. I haven't been here for many months. I had to leave after they patched up the games engine, because it was unplayable for a long time during alpha after that for me.

Now the performance bugs, lockups and graphics lag isn't as bad. The sound still goes in and out. It isn't release quality for me however, its not back to how good it was pre the engine upgrade, where there were relatively few lockups or laggy spots. Plays like a beta, which is where I feel the game is. A lot of games have released in this kind of state, all the way back for me to UO, EQ etc, but that's where it is.

The actual gameplay itself is fine, and by all accounts will only improve with time. If they call it a lobby shooter it will be worth the money. I couldn't recommend however based on my own personal performance currently, when previously it had been smooth. The whole MMO vs Arena debate is over, a debate which would benefit staying dead.

Its an arena shooter, that needs to go on the tin. The map debate needs to die with it. We have a flashy scoreboard, looks good, but call it what it is. - This may sound harsh, its not bashing the devs (we've already done that), its bashing the people that keep endlessly bringing it up that either it is an MMO or it should be an MMO when they know full well it is an arena shooter, and with the size of the teams could be a good old school one too when its done.

  4. It's been a very long time since I was last active on the forums, losing interest and refusing to take part in the FA after open world got the axe.

Well I had heard EC officially launched and I couldn't help myself, I had to install it and see where things stood. Unfortunately for me I should have stuck to my guns and waited longer because as things currently stand, at least for me, the game is not release ready.

I backed EC from the very beginning, along with many other people that did so because of what we were told at the time, yes, the whole open world MMOTPS aspect. While we were all informed a long time ago that it wasn't feasible, it was none the less a gut punch to pretty much all of us.

Now you cannot just remove a key selling point like that and not expect people to be bitter about it even to this day after all this time. All of you need to understand that even when we were told that it wasn't going to be there for launch, we were in fact told that nothing, including open world was really removed but pushed back into expansion post launch.

Why does this matter now ? Personally I think the fact that people are still bringing it up, my self included isn't that it's not here for launch, but that based on the content available at launch, that the chance of ever seeing it is so remote...

Now were we all informed and offered refunds a very, very long time ago ? We absolutely were and I can understand why people here on the forums and even in this thread are tired of hearing this complaint. The problem with that is that if the budget didn't allow for open world, the tech simply wasn't there what ever the case may be, how does us as founders, pulling our money out of the project help at all in that regard ?

I cannot being to imagine why others left their money in this game but I can tell you that I left mine in to help, as little help as that may be in the grand scheme of things to bring the open world to life sooner as opposed to later and I can only guess that's the same reasoning for a lot of other people here.

So getting upset and informing us that we were offered refunds is a rather hollow argument lets be honest. The same reason we backed EC in the first place is the same reason we left our money with BE.

There's my two cents on that side of things, we were sold on such and such and regardless of the fact that we were told in advance that the game wouldn't launch as marketed, we were strung a long to believe one day it would be there. I find it very hard to believe we will ever see it and it seems more then reasonable to me that some people, myself included feel... "cheated" to a degree.

On the other side of things, a lot of what I have read from unhappy customers is upsetting, are we entitled to express concern with a product, I don't see why not. Where else but these forums or the steam forums to do that ? But spamming for class action lawsuits or even the player base attacking each other is sickening.

And this is happening on both sides of the field and a lot of people need to take a deep breath and take two seconds before posting for or against on these forums or the steam forums. We're better then this you guys, if you feel I'm incorrect and you personally feel the need to post about it then please, do so respectfully, same goes for those of you that are unhappy with how things stand.

At the end of the day, I don't think what I played was any where near launch ready and I don't think I'm out of line for being upset about it.

I'm surprised the Forum Stasi has yet to fire bomb this thread...
