I believe I did, since Boss Plate = 25 Toughness = 130 LP, and Major Armor Wargear = 25 Armor = 150 LP. It ended up only being a difference of 10 LP, so it's within a factor of error, but he seems to be arguing that LSM have better armor. Which they don't. With the exception of Banshee Armor, if anything, they're essentially the same.
  2. I reworded my initial post but premise is the same.

I get that on a stat for stat basis maybe it seems Eldar have better deals, but for the sake of balance we also DO have to look at the end result.

As I said before, even with that better armor, a DA is still taking 100% damage from 110 penetration weapons, LSM will not(granted as I said before, the mitigation rates are so low it's like wtf is the point haha).

    Great Job, very informative.

We also have to look factors such as the size, speed, and animation recovery differences between them as well. But neither of those are the point of this thread. This thread is merely for analyzing the point-for-point value of items. If an item gives more of a particular stat, it will be valued higher.

But yes. They introduced this interesting Toughness system for mitigation purposes, but the value of Toughness doesn't seem to be performing as well as they intended.
  5. I did read it.
We are not talking about such extreme. But as long as total is higher for same price, you still have better armour.

No, items should not cost the same point per armor no matter how high. Its combination an average damage recieved and such matter as well. So rather some progressive curve should be applied.

Look at trinkets. +3 armour for 10 pts, +4 for 20 pts.. thats 3,333 pts for point of armour and 5 pts for point of armour.

*I just dont agree that items should cost the same no matter what. Doesn't mean I'm strictly against more fragile Eldar.

Of course, just doing my part to help. If someone learns something from my threads, great. If it somehow helps future balance, even better.

I plan on doing weapons for my next installment... it will likely take much longer.

Awesome thread man. Thanks for doing the leg work for the community.

I now it doesn't matter a lot, but it might be worth mentioning that while the Eldar Aspect Armours are cost efficient they can't obtain a lot of survivability gear before rank 4 where the armour is unlocked, and due to it being placed deep in the advancement tree it is impossible to unlock more than a few when you reach rank 5, as opposed to Orkz, LSM and CSM who can unlock their armours very cheaply due to them being for all classes.
So in terms of "AP Cost" the Eldar Aspect Armours are VERY expensive, though none of that matters when you are max rank and got everything unlocked.

Yes. I mean, I get why they did it the way they did with the advancement trees, but it does put Eldar at a bit of a disadvantage. They want to give Eldar that "specialized" feel with the trees, but it does gimp their ability to build up more than a couple full, custom slots. Whereas everyone else can get one armor to fill out a class even if they haven't really specialized in it, Eldar cannot.
