You chose to leave, and I felt little loss for the effort. Does that mean you're staying now? Welcome back. But on the off chance you aren't, I could care less if people agree with me telling you to leave. Doubtlessly folks with think i'm being too harsh, but that's their opinion, and they have the right to it. You have a right to an opinion too...but you don't have the right to shove it down our throats, which consciously or not is what i'v seen you doing every single time this topic comes up. I owe you no kindness.
And you have the right to shove your opinion down everyone's throat? Keeping in mind that's what you'd be doing if you got the name changed. you'd have taken your opinion and made it the new rule.
Someone said they liked the name traitor in this thread. We saw their reasons for liking the name, I even agreed with them. As a matter of fact, i'd call myself a traitor, because I want to play Emperors Children and we're all about the irony. But people can choose to try and vote for other things, to want other things, there is no crime inherent in the majority asking for what they want and getting it. It may foster disappointment in the minority, but that's part and parcel of life, and i'd hardly sacrifice the whole of the Chaos factions happiness for my own. That's different from taking your opinion to someone and yelling at them that they are wrong, and they should feel bad for asking for something different, and taking their arguments to dress up as something they are not and demeaning them for it. It's a world different from doing this:
Well if I thought your motivation was anything other then a desperate desire to not be the "bad guy" then I would have put it differently but, nope. That's what your motivation and the motivation all the other "don't call us traitor" whiners comes across as. You were given a reason it didn't happen. They weren't mean about it. They were even slightly apologetic about it. Then instead of accepting that and moving on, you continue to make the same thread. You are no different, to me, then the people who say "What about imperial guard!". It's not going to happen so stop wasting time and effort on it. And unlike Imperial guard, it's even less important. It's a damn name.
We've explained it to you a dozen times, from a dozen different angles, and you choose not to take those explanations as admissible. That's fine. But then you choose you to talk down to us because of that and what were you expecting? Did you expect us to all suddenly step back and weep at the prospect of your sudden absence? if I wanted to be insulted and sneered at every day i'd apply for a job at the DMV. As far as the name goes, it's a simple change and the explanation they gave was both bare-bones and somewhat contradictory to the whole exercise of having a vote in the first place. As many have commented, we'd of been better off if we never asked and they stuck with the old name,
Well crap happens and sometimes you should just accept it and move on. They gave you more then any other gaming company in a similar position would have. I do want to apologize for my manners this morning, something has sent me on a warpath and I don't know what it was. It wasn't just here either.
Crap does happen, and sometimes you should move on. But we are in an Alpha stage and it's not like the threads are even particularly cluttering the forums, may as well ask while we're here. And don't worry about it, it's whatever.
@Bentusi16 Lets also just take a moment to remember that it was Loyalists that came up with the name Traitor and that a majority of the votes for this name came from Loyalists. But uh, yeah. Shit happens. Yeah, shitty days, shitty moods. We've all been there.
I'm late... Anyway I though Warhammer is supposed to be no one is the good guy everyone sucks and everyone's a dick and the only reason anyone will work together is to be a dick later on and then there are certain teams more dicky than other dicks like the Dark Eldar but now and then once in an era a dick so dicky appears who can make even the most dickish person go "Wow what a dick" and that my friends is the dick known as Eldrad.
Easy now, just because Bentus would be happy with cliché mustache twirling villians, let's not forget that he's actually the one in the minority, as multiple polls show, so there's no need to get into a big fight about it. He's actually brought up a good point, in favor of the name change. The reason it's liked by a minority of stringent Imperial fans is that it's a reminder to Chaos fans that they're not supposed to think our faction has any legitimacy. This is of course not a good feature of either an MMO nor good storytelling for two opposing factions to agree one side is right. Once again Thinking Oneself to be Right =/= Good
