I think the F2P with Orkz was genius(yes, orks should out number any other faction) and if you wary about people not wanting to play with other factions look at the polls most of the people want to play as SM or chaos

I actually think 10:1 Orkz:Everything else is not a bad mix. If the numbers are terribly out of control, they can just release the Imperial Guard as another F2P option to even things up. Or they can offer "time limited free access to other factions/classes" but after the time limit expires you would have to purchase that class to continue playing or return to the Ork faction.

I think the idea of F2P Orks being "Fodder" of sorts is ideal...they rely on numbers more than anything.

PLUS the thing is..you really can't pin PS2 on this game, Planetside 2 isn't that great of a game and EC while taking some influence from it hopefully won't fall for the same problems PS2 does. Plus it's a B2P title, make is significantly better.

We, the players, are supposed to be a balancing force in this game. We can ally against overwhelming forces, making a greenskin horde manageable. There's also a Tyranid threat that will be more numerous when a faction is massively outnumbering the others.
If the orks are 10:1, that would be just fine. The devs says that 5 orks will be equivalent to 1 space marine. These ork players will most likely have fun being in a huge mob and rampaging around.

I also do not see this model as a Pay-to-win model. Having a Free-to-Play mode does not make buying the game Pay-to-win. Now, if I could buy an amazing sword from an online shop, one that absolutely beats all else.. That'd be pay-to-win.
You have to explain your point better, because right now it's not making a lot of sense.

I still stick to my original thoughts, but I just had this one.

Rubric marines as F2P? Slow, tough, all the players can really do is walk forward and blast stuff? maybe have them as slots they can drop into?

Chaos team saves up for tzeentch sorcerer. Tzeentch sorcer spawns on battlefield, with 9 rubric slots. F2P players can drop into these slots for something different

Turbine has a F2P model where you can purchase an unlock for a race/class and still be F2P. It's premium tier.. Not 100% F2P and not 100% P2P
  7. I think something nice to give to f2p is the ability in time to become a nob. Pretty much everything you do besides getting killed get you closer to being a nob.
  8. Orks are supposed to be overwhelming moot point :p
plus their fun to squish under mah space marine boots!

  9. I think you are going into this with the wrong mindset, Warborn. You're looking at it as a Free to Play game with paid aspects. I think a better analogy would be that of a standard Pay to Play game, with a fun Free to Play option tacked on to show people what the game is like; a sort of demo, if you will. If they like it, they can either keep playing as free or pay to open up all the new possibilities the full game offers.

At the end of the day, Pay to Win is an aspect of Free to Plays, and I don't think this counts as one. Your argument is akin to complaining that you had to pay to unlock a whole game after liking the free demo of that same game.

If by Pay2Win you mean Paying for the Game so you can Win. Then yes. Just as COD is Pay2Win.
