Because nothing says "combat effectiveness" like an exposed abdomen and breast augmentation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Space Wolf - "Ummm, upon looking over the list of implants our recruits are receiving, I noticed there was one additional implant being received by our female recruits..." Logan Grimnar - "Yes?" Space Wolf - "Yeah... so are breast implants really necess-?" Logan Grimnar - "THEY ARE VERY NECESSARY! NEVER QUESTION ME!!"
Yeah, just like Soulstorm attracted a huge wave of women to play Dawn of War with the addition of SoB. WH40K is brutal and violent. Women overall don't like brutal and violent things. Men do. In WH40K women will always be a minority.
That is until we add the Sisters of Chaos faction. Chaos is an equal opportunity employer as long as you don't fail de dark godz Join us, and get a free sunday!
Well... Soulstrorm was also pretty mediocre (probably the worst of all the DoW series--in my opinion). Keep in mind that it doesn't make it bad--just 'meh'. [Although I can totally understand why you would bring Soulstorm up. ] Stepping away from the digression with more digression... I didn't say that adding Sororitas to EC would equate to a huge female following. I just said that it would help me to get some people I know interested. More female options for a setting/game that's very male-dominated to begin with could be generally appreciated. It's totally reasonable & understandable that we don't have female space marines (especially lore-wise o_o), but this leads the game(s) becoming virtual/visual sausage-fest(s). Sausage-fests are not inherently bad things--mind you (this also pleases Slaanesh )--but it would be a tougher sell to reach a broader demographic. I also admitted that these returns may not be the huge numbers that producers & share-holders would prefer. On the other hand, I'm certain that Adepta Sororitas could be universally appreciated--I'm absolutely guilty of the "Create a Female Character in a 3rd Person Game To Appreciate the Eye Candy". We're already getting a lot of things that we--a predominantly male population--can enjoy. Adding more female characters could mean more awesomeness for everyone. Furthermore, there are many in this Community that have started "Sisters of Battle" threads and use the Sisterhood as their avatars. Are they male or female? Does it really matter? *shrugs* [Though the above statement kind of goes against this whole thread ] Yes, women are in the minority in a lot of these forms of entertainment (gaming in general, sadly ). However, the number of female customers who buy video games for themselves has appreciably increased over the past 10 years (and Soulstorm was 6 years ago). Are female-gamers all running to buy the next Call of Duty? Nope, but there are women that do buy CoD for themselves. To get away from the drivel that is CoD: the Borderlands series' playerbase actually has a fairly appreciable female-to-male ratio (at least in my personal experience). Among all the swearing, crudeness, and blood are female avatars that women can inherently relate to (just as much as there are males that actually get 'turned-off' when there's no male character to choose). Do women always pick the female characters, nope. It's the same as men who don't always pick the male characters. I know ladies that ADORE horror movies/games--they enjoy the gore and violence. I know about a half-dozen female gamers that are totally okay with violence & swearing, play FPS games, enjoy Assassin's Creed stabbing, and relish tabletop RPGs where I describe in detail how horribly someone died for their rolling a Critical Success. Yes, that's only a half-dozen women, but some of them also work at a video game stores--so they can come into contact with more people like them--further spreading the word, and so forth. Could I get all of them to jump on the EC bandwagon (even with Sisters of Battle)--probably not. Still, regardless, I feel that Adepta Sororitas would be appreciated--regardless of their admirer's gender. Once again, I reiterate that this could still not be in the numbers that producers & share-holders would prefer. EDIT: I'm probably also bailing out of this thread--it's gotten amusing-but-silly.
