I am also fearing a bit of backlash from the--let's say--more radical parts of the gaming community. Anyways--backing off from the Feminism ≠ Misandry debate... I understand how Sisters of Battle can't be part of the Space Marine faction. In short, they aren't Space Marines. Regardless, I'd really love to see them in the game as playable units very soon (I'd actually appreciate them being the 5th faction; to limit the extreme sausage fest the Franchise/Game currently provides). Battle-Nuns in Power Armor = Awesomeness! Concerning the Topic (Vaguely):I'm sure I could get some more ladies interested in EC if they had more female characters to play as. Yes, there are Female Eldar, but I'm vehemently against playing anything involving Twiggy-Elves ('sounds like a personal problem--hurhurhur' ). So they might be reticent to play a game where they'll always be fighting against me. Plus no "Chainmail Bikini" silliness --they are usually near-completely covered. This is appreciably surprising in a Male-Centered Science-Fantasy Setting. Those ladies' power armor is (mostly) built for function (well, unless you bring up the Repentia/Penitents significant lack thereof)! Sidenote: You may have a point. I feel that one factor in this would be that the wargaming market is very slowly growing with the female demographic (in direct contrast to how many more women are playing video games nowadays in nearly the same span of time). Nevertheless, this year, there was a set of Sci-Fi miniatures on Kickstarter of a 95% female army (similar to SoB). They raised nearly $700,000 on miniatures for a game that isn't even out yet (and won't be for a appreciable amount of time). Makes you wonder what ~2,750 people were buying all those miniatures for. I'd postulate that--if given the opportunity--the Adepta Sororitas could make a decent fiscal impact. It's just not the numbers that shareholders might prefer to see.
Well maybe if GW actually spent a little time and effort bringing the Sisters up to par they'd sell better. FFS, it's their own fault.
I don't think the SoB would fit in the game at all. It be to hot wiff all da fire fings they got. And I those female votes i want a judge!. Cuz The rules of the internet applies for the 2 that picked female
I dont mind more female options at all...and that kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/project...e-toughest-girls-of-the-galaxy?ref=nav_search has some damn cool bikes
Some good minis for a few Dark Eldar-heroes there... But I wouldn't use Raging Heroes as advertisement for female players
I indeed have a shling slong. This is my schlong, there are many like it, but this one is mine. 40:1 tho.
This. It is a 'build it, and they will come' type of deal. It is a trend with growing momentum to include heroes both genders can enjoy playing, especially in games like multiplayer games/mmos not bound by story and specific characters in that story which is more typical of singleplayer experiences. Don't serve us that "They are not Space Marines" bs. They do the job just fine, wear armor and fire bolters and flamers so for a legit Heresy-books author to not come up with lore to explain their presence on this specific planet is nonsense. They'll be cooperating with the 3 all-male Space Marine chapters.
