Oh Im a looooong way from the safety of the eldar threads *puts on inquisitor uniform*.....just ask the question and leave, just ask the question and leave... Ok When I see most chapters, the helmets tend to be the same color as the rest of the armor. This is not the case for blood angels. I see many of them running around with blue, gold, green and other colors instead of the normal red. What's the lore reason for this? Thanks pathetic Mon-................Um......PURGE THE VILE XENO FILTH!!!!
Well it's simply their style Blue is for devastators yellow for assaults And green might be tactical? I'm not sure ^^
red - tactical blue - devastator yellow - assault gold - veteran I'm not sure there's a specific lore reason beyond the fact that it allows the force commander to get a quick idea of squad placement during an engagement. They aren't the only chapter to color helmets to denote position either. For example, you'll find red and white helmets among sergeants and veterans of the Ultramarines.
I've tried finding some lore excuse for the different colored helmets, but the closest theory I have is that since the modern colour scheme is a uniform blob of detail-less red, the helmets allow the players to identify the various roles more easily at a glance.
I think it's much the same reason Ultramarine Sergeants have red helmets; so it's easy to see which squads have which role in the heat of battle.
Current edition Codex: Blood Angels states that helmet colour denotes battle brother squad - as someone above said - red = tactical, blue = devastator, yellow = assault, gold = veteran, BUT i noticed that my dev loadout helmet is red, and thats just plain wrong and makes me cry
Might be because of the upcoming cosmetic update, can't see why they'd remove something that was already finished.
