If there's one thing I've noticed it's that every time a negative 'review'* comes up for Eternal Crusade it's never about the game itself. Rather it's always because of some minor and oft imagined slight against one's pride. I take this as a positive thing. *Because you can totally review a game in pre-alpha.
Posting a couple responses to him. Hopefully he calms down and considers what I'm saying. I can come on strong at times, but it would really suck if this didn't at least have a level ending.
No offense but does he even have a Journalism Degree? I'd thought they would "hammer" out to keep personal and professional separate and to keep judgement of a product and those who made it separately. To criticize an individual over the thing they make, that is the sort of childish actions I expect from Youtube comments and 4chan (and in those situations it's often sarcastic remark), not a trained professional (even if he really is). All I know is this, the fog that is not knowing who is bad or who is good at their jobs is slowly dissipating in the industry and it's becoming apparent which journalism websites are professional and which are not, in turn which are worth going to and which are not.
I think 4chan would have the better opinions. I understand he didn't like something and wanted to tell us, but he should have done that separately, and not focus on EC, spread it out a little, to any regular gamer, this would seem like an attack on the devs, it is'nt, but it sounds like it.
To make a comparison with this interview, here's what to me seems a professional and objective job...... although they stated it will be released also on current consoles...... http://www.gameinformer.com/games/w...40-000-eternal-crusade-at-pax-prime-2014.aspx
Wow what a shite article, wasn't anything on the game just "QQ no one grovelled for me". Nice to see hes had his arse handed to him in the comments.
That is shamefull. I actually watched the angry joe video bfore knowing about this bs. i was sceptic bout the game, and i was convinced by how clear was the dev's love for the game and commitment not to screw it up for the fans. If u go on joe s yt channel ull see for urself how much uncalled that was
I have a much higher opinion of GameInformer and Gamespot who both took their jobs seriously while they were at PAX. All in all pretty much everyone else in the press at PAX from what I've been told were very professional.
Reuben posted another article that actually gives the game a proper review: http://www.tentonhammer.com/feature/warhammer-40k-eternal-crusade-hands-impressions
