Since Rogal Dorn was primarch, I shall pledge my service to the Imperial Fists but only since there's no Black Templars.
If it makes you feel better, the incompetent buffoon that wrote Sentinels of Terra pretty much merged the Black Templars back into the Imperial Fists. According to it, the Imperial Fists are still doing the Emperor's Great Crusade and will keep going until the entire galaxy is devoid of xenos and heretics.
The Imperial Fists are technicly a crusading chapter, But they are still tasked with keeping Terra safe. But on the topic. Planing to stick with Imperial Fists once they arive, and when the Black Templars are added i will join their crusade! Til then im just picking a random chapter, sometimes the closet traitors, Sometimes Smurfs, Sometimes the Blood Angels.
From all 3 id say Blood Angels. Dorn was closer to Sanguinius i think, and they shared the defense of Terra!
Because unlike the UltraSmurfs we Templars do not venerate a book but the Holy Emperor. Imperial Fists.
I dunno. Allegedly, GW is putting the brakes on bE from including Black Templars. In regards to being "lore breaking" however, is ridiculous. They just don't have combat psykers. They use all the other equipment from the Space Marine codex, but get an Emperors Champion (and get neophytes, but that's beside the point.) As it is, there really is no good reason not to include them, unless they are afraid that the maltese cross could be misconstrued as offensive. Either way, it's a terrible excuse. They just won't let up and tell us why.
I always felt like this was a byproduct of the lore progressing but not wanting to take what makes the Dark Angels who they are away from those that love/play them and instead creating the Black Templars to funnel the extreme crusader aspect into (and that they fit the overall theme/history of our own like the DA do.) Personally don't care a lick for the Black Templars but any that would like to play one I'd suggest playing the Imperial Fists and just imagine that you're training/on deployment with your parent chapter for some reason. Assuming you need any actual style of explanation other than "the BT aren't in game." This is also pretty old info and I don't think anyone's really poked the bear in a long while about it. (Caution, poking Nathan might result in heretical nights filled with gold spandex and fish tank platform shoes.) In reality it was most likely that they wanted the original legion/chapters represented first before they ever went into successor chapter territory. It's not like other original legion/chapters don't have their own little variances and some have a LOT. (Woof.) I'm of the camp that this was a smart idea, I'd like that the original chapters be implemented then let them work on the successors from there. That said, I would enjoy people having the chapter they love represented in game down the road and hope Eternal Crusade is successful and continues to be excellent so that this can happen. People should have voted Raven Guard. Carcharodons GO GO!
The whole argument was ridiculous. And we never got a straight answer just people beating around the bush, with smoke and mirror tricks.
I have a question for my fellow Black Templar fans. This thing will probably newer happen but its popped up in my head couple of times. How would you react if GW would anounce a single new HQ for Black Templars. A librarian, With a well written backstory with being the first BT psycker in thousands of years. Perhaps having been sent to the Imperial Fists librarius for training, and not being of of those no name ones, but perhaps a level 2 psyker with a unique psycker ability or two. Would you ignore that kind of character compleatly or would you give it a try? Just had to get this idea out of my head.
