Brothers! Cousins! I would hear your opinions and thoughts on a matter. I would like to know and have your opinions on what you would all say are the greatest conflicts of Warhammer 40k! Which battles have caught your eye? What is the greatest shedding of blood you have witnessed?!

I would know this. I would prefer you avoid saying entire conflicts such as the Horus Heresy and focus more on singular battles, however I shall post polls respectively for larger scale conflicts.

Definitely the Horus Heresy, it's what started the whole imperium vs. chaos thing. DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!

istvaan III for sure, or thinking about actually istvaan V maybe? i mean its one of the bloodiest battle the imperium has ever seen

  4. Istvaan III/V and the Battle of Terra. Those battles shook the Imperium to the core and ended the "Golden Era" of humanity.

For me it's not so much about how much blood was spilled, but about the psychological effect. Well those three battles essentially crippled, "killed" the Imperium in the inside and turned it into what it is today.

Νοw, it's not that I like the Imperium, quite the opposite. But I find what happened really depressing, because what supposed to be an era of enlightenment and progress, and simple folk could have relatively good peaceful lives, BOOM, it's all darkness and oppression all over again.

    Waw just waw .

Like i know what is the place and the reputation of the Horus Heresy in the Warhammer 40000 mythos but Waw .

I could quote plenty of battles that i loved more than those in the Horus Heresy like for example the Battle of the Fang where the Thousand Sons actually wrecked tons of things on Fenris or the Gildar Rift with the Silver Skulls fighting the Red Corsairs for weeks .

And what about the Sabbat Worlds wars ? And the Black Crusades ?

There is some awesome stuff in here too .
  6. Isstvan III, betrayal and the spiral down for the Imperium.

Me it would have to be the battle of prospero during the heresy and the battl of the palace of thorns at the end of the badab wars.

    First of all HH.

Istvan is a temptation to say but....What battle matches the glory of the Celebration of Calth?

The day we proclaimed our true loyalty. The day we proved ourselves to the Gods , each and every one last of us Bearers of the Word. Under Kor Phaeron we marched , the eyes of the Gods upon us. And what a battle it was. The burning skies...the shattering continents... the hopeless screams of the sons of Guilliman as we slaughtered them...i recall they reminded me of the squeezing of pigs. That day , we the Word Bearers took the jewel of Ultramar , Calth , and turned it into the shiniest example of the punishment that befalls the infidels. Who shall forget how we drove the Ultramarines in the underground , like worms! On their very own planet! The planet they dreamed of becoming a second Terra! The fools!

Even their cowardly nature and weakness of character did not allow them to erase such blow from their history. The mark of calth still runs , counting the final days of the Ultramarines' remaining worlds.

For me it has to be the Isstvan V dropsite massacre. I mean when Dorn sent Iron Hands, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion, Word Bearers and the Night Lords to stop Horus and it back fired with three of the loyalist legions getting almost destroyed. When word got out about the dropsite massacre "mostly do to the Alpha legion infiltrators on different worlds", the whole thing sent a rippling effect across the whole universe that three legions were destroyed "but not really" while 4 other legions turn against the Emperor.
