That is true I can see it now one ork killing another at a base and the next thing that you see is the whole ork base fighting it out guild vs. guild it would only take one ork troll to set them back for days if not a week Might not need the Tyranids to help keep the orks from steamrolling the other factions...they just might do it all on there own.....maybe And you have a good point troll fire might happen more on the ork side hopefully there can be a way to help out the ones that get troll killed so they can have fun playing the game.
This problem is so easy to solve: give cooldown classes 50% friendly fire damage reduction and double the friendly fire penalties for hitting them. Raise the opportunity cost of trying to grief heroes enough and the rate of incidence will go way down.
ahh and now we start to wonder if a FF penalty would apply for killing or just hitting, in the FF thread we explored the potential for FF to contribute to a units death while not actually being the death blow itself
Even a few dozen trolls can be a big problem if they are organised griefers. I would say play Star Trek online AND visit the public hubs/ public pve ..... but I don't want you to suffer that much, it would be too cruel.
Well, one way to take care of it is with a split penalty system. Damage done contributes towards weapon lock, decaying over time. So if you just accidentally tag someone now and then you'll never get locked, but if you're critically damaging friendly vehicles or spraying AoE weapons into blobs of friendlies you get locked fast. Actual teamkills would contribute to your spawn timer, so the more people to TK in one life the longer your next spawn takes. The stacking mechanic ensures that if you just happen to accidentally take out a friendly's last hitpoint with a stray shot, you only get a very small bump in your next spawn. But if you're going around TKing everything in sight, you're going to have a very long time staring at the spawn screen.
I just hope I can drive recklessly with my trukk and still be a valuable painboy. Wouldn't want these two play styles to be counterproductive, eh?
You'z gotta get ter da boyz right kwik ter get dem patched up and ready fer anuvva go! Bring on da trukks! An' don't ferget ter do da painboy fing on day boyz ya run ova wiff yer trukk on da way ter get ter da udda boys.
Dat's a good thinkin' there, brings all da boyz to one place! Like it's a real fast clinik dat only gets fastah 'cause of all da red gettin' on it.
