?

Should there be a cheaper vial that has just healing and no added effect?

The real question should be why do we have to pay LP at all for the core functionality?
An item that you cannot replace with a weaker/cheaper one should cost 0 LP, representing the minimum viable potential of a character in a given field.

You don't pay for base HP.
You don't (technically) pay for base stamina/fuel.
You shouldn't pay for the baseline firepower and tactical features.

Setting the baseline costs of items that cannot be replaced with weaker ones to 0 would let us truly decide how we invest the 1000 LP we're given to work with, rather than forcing a certain degree of investment into the "offense pillar".

You can build an extremly agressive apo right now

    boltgun+texturegrip+cbc barrel+penetration ammo
    red armor+30hp
    survival vial

    thats 230hp | 95 armor | 120 Toughness | + the 10%(?) Damage resist cause of the vial

you can go vs any tactical without problems and you carry basically unlimited medpacks around and you got a better melee weapon when things get dirty which also can be upgrade to master crafted for cheaper too, if you are really afraid of jpa buffs. not sure but for me it sounds to good to be true :)

    I would still say no.
If your going to state cheaper vials then you need to reduce the number of vials available. I have never ever seen an apoth run out of vials, whilst sorcer / warlock constantly run out of juice.
Sorcer / warlock have to use the same pool to heal and be offensive.
Apoth and doc have different 'pools' for offensive and defensive.
That means that you have to play differently yes but it also puts the docs and apothicary higher. Combine that with the apothicary higher HP this is just generally bias. Unless in the last patch they have reduce the apothicary HP

    Its called specialization.
Tacticals are generalists, the only specialization they have is capping the point, which is the only thing in game 100% mandatory to be able to win the game, therefore its free, everything else is a matter of choice and customization.

Supports specialize in, well, support and healing, just like bolter is tacticals primary thing and costs LP, healing is primary support tool and costs LP.

As JPA you can forego improved jump packs, but you're not going to get far without additional mobility the class is all about.

    That's extremely flawed logic here.
You ARE using weaker/cheaper one already and you can expand on better/more expensive ones as you progress.

    Incorrect.
Each class has its own baseline when it comes to HP, mobility and tactical features.
You HAVE to pay for fuel to become more useful.
You HAVE to pay for HP if you want to be as tanky as other classes if you're support or JPA.
You HAVE to pay for baseline firepower, because you're not going bare handed into the fray.

Except, you're not supposed to have these options.
You already have more utility then base tactical class can have, why you believe you should have the same amount of loudout points to customize yourself is beyond me.

If you want to focus on combat, pick combat class and customize it accordingly, if you're going for support, you're not going to have the same options, because you've already got advantage of having support/utility options and they should never be free.

I could see a 50lp version with 10 vials and no extra benefit.

No way, the vials main strength is not the heal over time (which is pretty weak) but the fact that it's a quick applying full heal

  10. Apothecary, Sorc, Warlock, shieldbro have to pay for their class defining mechanics, why should Tactical, Dire Avenger and Shoota be able to get their capture key for free?
