The flight down to the planet went smoothly. Most of the orks seemed to have landed in the wastes far outside of the city and the battle. That would give them enough time to get the trukks and wagons set up. Steelface seemed like he had other plans as his krooza started taking fire from the planet below. Streaks of blue flying up, just barely hitting the ork flyer as the pilot tried his hardest to dodge. One slip up and the wing was clipped, causing the krooza to fall to the earth and into a part of the forest instead of with the main force. Steelface punches his way through the wreckage of the plane. He had lost a few of his nobs and the flyer boy was dead. "Oi, git dem boyz in da sky to come pick us up! No clue as to why we fell like dat, but I'z wanna git to da action!" One of the nobs went back into wrecked flyer to try and call the rest of the sky fleet to come pick the boss up. Steelface watched his surrounding until he took a plasma shot to the shoulder. Growling as the smoke rose from the scorch mark on his armor and quickly took cover behind a piece of the wing. "You'z think you'z can stop me?!" Pointing his linked shoota into the brush he opened fire, the rest of his nobs doing the same. He wasn't sure who was out there, but he was going to rip their heads off!

Vixen giggled as she noticed someone attempting to hack her tech. "Pfffft, amateurs..." she said, two grots bringing up her computer systems. With a deft stroke of her hands, she sent a virus back to the would-be hacker.

Upon their view screens and helmet visors, their tactical read outs sputtered and displayed static for a full minute before a comical image of 'chibi' vixen appearing with her middle fingers raised. Their drones sputtering and bonking their control domes into walls, before finally, a message in tau appearing.

    "Nice try, fish lips."

Vixen giggled, the two grits hefting up the bulk of her computer grinning. "We's done a good hackin', den', Miss?" One of them said, using the title she preferred.

"Oh yes, Dank, we did. That should take them a few hours to wade through, especially with the logic bomb I sent them." Vixen said, leaning back with glee.

((At work, full post later in the day :p))
  3. Flamewing panicked, almost activating every anti-virus system he had to prevent it(Flamewing viruseater.exe? :p) A small sigh of relief was there when he had managed to quarantine the logic bomb.
Flamewing grumbled as he threw out his expensive hacking device out of the Orca pod bay doors, that was speeding along.
Infuriated and annoyed by this "Vixen", he ordered his Stealth-suit teams that were silently hidden within the Ork masses, and to eliminate vixen specifically, if they could.

Flamewing nevertheless went on to his primary objective: Getting to the battle and surrounding them. Luckily for him, during the hacking Flamewing made sure it was on an isolated device, so they would not know his point of entry, though he was somewhat disturbed of 'chibi.png' appearing on his screen earlier.

At the Hive city sewer entrance...
The stealth-suit team had finally reached the entrance, sneaking past two unknown 'contacts'
"Ugg, we've got to go through THAT?"
"Well, we've got jetpacks you know..."
    "...Fine, I guess."
They waded their way through, occasionally jet-packing silently and stealthily in the dark tunnels.
This way, they would cover ground a lot more faster.
"You know, I wonder what's in there"
"Oh, shut up and get moving, the Shas'O wants us to move quickly"

Suddenly, a small plane emerged in the sky. Aboard it was Zon, an infamous villain from Commorragh. He had come to watch a rejuvenating battle and possibly bomb a few things with his Voidraven.

He looked down from his paperplane, and waved at the orks.
He was not afraid. After all, a flickerfield is almost as good as a shadowfield...

    Then he remembered.
"Damn it, I forgot my void mines!"
He quickly reached for a blaster at the back of his pilot's seat, and started shooting randomly at the orks.
    "This should work too!"

((Lets see how well I can just throw this in the RP. Nope, I havent read the whole story here yet))
  5. Somewhere in the darker corners of the Hive, two marines and a bunch of cultists, of an alliance not seen since the shadow crusade, are plotting and planneng.

"Is it ready Ira?" the first marine asked. The teeth of his chainaxe reflecting a distant light., blinding one of the cultists.
"If the cultists stop moving around and the ritual goes according to plan, everything should be set Cösper. There's enough battle in the air to attract the attention of the Lord of Rage. Greenskins applenty to even cover our prescence." the other marine nodded.

Then silence, save for the Hive City being in total uproar due to the development in the sector.
The cultists stepped in place and all took rusty knives out against their hearts.

    "Speak the words."
    "Do it now"

"Blood for the Blood God" they all himmed in harmony as they stabbed themselves through the heart and with all their might ripped the knives as far upward as they could before dropping to the ground.

    "So now we wait?"
"No, we head out. His eyes will be on us when it is needed" Ira said as he gazed to the patern forming on the floor.
  6. As the battle raged below, the Angels of Death made their arrival on the battlefield. Seven Thunderhawks in the emerald green and jet black of the Salamanders swooped down from the atomosphere above to deliever death to the Xenos. Moving into a arrow formation a mere hundred meters above the Waaagh!, the aircraft pappered the Orks with fire from no less then the combined might of twenty-eight storm bolters. As dozens of the foe crumpled to the ground or exploded under the fire of the mass-reactive shells, the Thunderhawks reached their objective.

No more then a hundred feet from the city's secondary defenses, where the beleaguered Imperial Guard was attempting to stem the Orkish tide, the Thunderhawks unleashed their most deadly weapons. Appearing to the soldiers below as nothing more then an viridian blur, the Salamanders lept from their transports and to the ground below, The Iron Dragon first among them.

Slamming to the ground atop an Orkish Wartrak, the ancient Dreadnought was as a god of war, turning all before him to ash. Scores of Orks were reduced to ash as Bray'arth's Dreadfire weapons spewed incandescent flame. Dozens more were rendered down to a bloody smear as the Iron Dragon ripped them apart with razor-sharp claws. Belowing ancient passages from the Tome of Fire in High Gothic, Bray'arth was as the manifestation of the Salamanders' rage and hatred for the foe.

Despite the venerable Dreadnought's fury, however, he was not the only Salamander to be feared on the battlefield. On the other side of the conflict was Chaplain Kato, fighting alongside the Second Company's Pyroclasts. In their position of honor as the second of the Salamander's seven companies, the 2nd had adopted various practices of their ancient ancestors in the Eighteenth Legion, regarding themseleves as the keepers of the Chapter's glorious history. Thus, rather then fielding the conventional Honor Guard, the commanders of the Second Company were accompanied to battle by the Pyroclasts, elite veterans armed with power hammers and inferno pistols.

It was among this hallowed group of praetorians that the Chaplain fought, every blow slaying a greenskin, and every burst of fire from his own Inferno Pistol killing tens more. Shouting litanies from the Tome of Fire interspersed with passages from the Promethean Opus, the Chaplain was a fearsome sight, his Drake-hide cloak billowing behind him as he chraged recklessly to bring the Emperor's Justice to the foe.

Inspired by the two heroes of Nocturne, not to mention the couragous acts of the other Sons of Vulkan, the Imperial Forces soon rallied enough to make a full retreat to the secondary defenses, fortifiying as best they could before the Salamanders' own fall back to the line.

((Note: While I did slay probably a hundred+ Orks in that post, please keep in mind that these Astartes are, almost without exception, veterans of the Badab War as well as several of the Armageddon wars. So, they're pretty tough. However, I only have fifty of them, so if you must kill them, do it in ones and twos.))

Steelface was just plain angry at the moment. Bunch of puny grey skins come out of nowhere and clip his krooza because he even reaches the planet! That's not right orky at all! As the nobs continue to exchange fire with the hiding pathfinders and stealth suits, Steelface charged ahead with his power klaw at the ready. Letting out a mighty roar as he punched a one of the scrawny tau right into his squad mate. Even with the helmets on the tau looked straight terrified as the massive ork managed to get into close combat with them. Watching them flee from he him he quickly picked up one of the pathfinders by his leg and started to use him as a weapon. Bludgeoning them with the body of their own comrade. The stealth suits tried to take him down, but he only soaked up the plasma shots. The bright light from their pulse guns giving them away for the rest of Steelface's nobs to charge in, hacking and crushing the tau armor like they were wearing cardboard boxes. The melee lasted for a while with Steelface and his nob squad sweeping out the area and killing any sneaky tau they see. Now Steelface just waited for his orks to come pick him up as he sat on top of a pile of tau corpses. "Dese puny gitz ain't even worf da fight! Gotta be 'arder dings on dis planet."
  8. Ira tapped Cösper on the pauldron and pointed at the reïnforcements in the sky on the loyalist side.
    "Looks like trouble. What now?"
"Let's work behind their lines. Catch them off guard, cut off their supplies.".
Cösper nodded as they made their way through the maze of the city. They knew it like the back of their hands, having been here a few weeks, having explored evry ground level passage and subterrainian passage as well.
They came across a small guard post and simply walked by. At first the guards didn't notice anything. Just marines in red, clad with cream tabbards. Dark Angels from the Mechanicum was the first thing that came to the minds of most guardsmen, but not this time.

The guard captain didn't drop to his knees at the sight of marines, but rather looked upon the shin guard parts of the two marines. They looked old... Very old... As if produced on Holy Terra itself... Before the Heresy.
While the other eleven guardsmen kept their heads low, even with calls of distress from the front lines, the captain asked.
"Sirs, pardon me for asking, but that chainaxe is a rather unusual weapon. Even by Dark Angel standards and even by Mechanicum's. May I inquire where you've aqcuired it?".

In that split second Ira realized that this guardsman knew history.
In that split second Cösper knew he had to do something, lest he wants weeks of preparation to go to waste.
In that split second the guardsman had forgotten to keep communication lines open with the front and headquarters.

And a split second was all it took.

Cösper didn't even pre-rev his chainaxe, but swung it, violently.
The decapitation of the guard captain alerted the other guardsmen, but for them it was too late, as Ira simply had stabbed each of them before they could say "Emperor protect us.".

    A high-five was exchanged and a nod.

    "Forest side?"
"No. We slip through the walls and stay low"
    "What about the battle outside?"
    "The Gods will protect us.".

Meanwhile the comms on the now abandonned guard post was hailing them, to no avail, to no response.

Zon looked at mild interest as more mon-keigh appeared to the scene.
"Well this is going to get interesting." He placed his blaster back behind his seat and steered his voidraven to stay clear from the Thunderhawks. He readied the voidlance just in case though.

The lone dark eldar plane calmly followed the battle raging on.

((@Warsmith, all good bro. Like I said, killing nameless units is all cool, just can't kill or maim anyone's main character without their permission.

And to everyone else, be forewarned. This waagh is just getting bigger and bigger, and no one army is going to be able to break it. Have fun storming the hive city!))
