I have to say that I am on the fence on this one. We dont know their internal numbers and we know very little of how they plan to proceed with the additional money generated by f2p.

On one hand I think that they rushed f2p before it was ready. There were no features supporting it or even cushining the most obvious upcoming issues like a report system, like throtteling for the increased serverload, like squadlead by rank, just to name a few. All these were to be exspected and were even pointed out by the community weeks before launch (and most likely they knew about it themself aswell). So in my humble opinion they were most likely with the back to the wall already and had to push f2p or close within "x months". Following that tought we would be currently walking the thin line between life and death.

I honestly think that the team tries and sees all the issues and are working nonstop to fix stuff they broke with this overly hasty approach but this has the bitter sideeffect of them focussing all their energy on that and not expanding or showing new features. They are doomed if they don't fix the issues because people will leave and they are doomed if they don't bring fresh content to keep the players who stick around interested.

I think that we can realistically exspect new stuff in the second half of the year (if at all). By then they know which numbers they stabilised on, which cash they have and if it is worth to hire additional people to produce stuff. While the current team might have fixed many of the glaring issues and broken things by then and can return to producing new content aswell. Let us not forget that new stuff also takes time to develop and to polish and that in the current situation it seems like the burned all half prepared or easy highlights during the last few weeks / months already. Last but not least they promised an engine change awhile back, if they will go through with that we can exspect another huge content delay aswell. That is a step slighly more complicated then a windows update.

Someone suggested a second fundraiser and i personally would walk away as far as i could from that idea. Their reputation is already dented from the founders programm and it would be no different with a new founding or kickstarter. They would (since they have no manpower to prepare anything) promise stuff they have absolutely no manpower or framework to work for (not to mention some items from the first founding are not even delivered yet) and i don't think many people would rush to fill their coffers with fresh coin for more promises and another vision of how things could be.

Let us face it. even if a second founding was successfull and enough fresh cash would be generated it would not do anything but to add a few more months or even a year to the whole thing. To get it on its legs you need to establish a healthy playerbase with a working fincancial / profit system (on their end). Just dropping more cash into the "mess" EC is in atm will not necessarily push in that direction. Neither would it create the content we all wish for because successfully running a kickstarter and hiring fresh blood from it and then developing and polishing new stuff takes not a few months but maybe a year or more. Do you really see yourself play by then if things dont drastically improve? If you do, do you really think many of the f2p crowd stuck around for another year with just fixes and no fresh content? The only option fresh cash would make a difference would be if another investor shows up (like tomorrow). Then they could quickly go to work, hire new staff or even go with 3rd party personal or borrowed employees from other projects and push hard. But such a new investor would most likely want a businessmodel which would be very harsh, they always want their money back, especially if they invest in something which is struggeling. I personally don't see that option either.

As a response to this, in the latest patch notes:
"Remember our Twitch Friday 2 PM EST, where we'll give you the highlights of our 2-month roadmap."

I do wonder if the roadmap highlights was something actually planned or a result of this very thread.

Regardless, it'll be welcomed and watched with utmost attention.

This is a honest question, since i am not a native speaker: Do they actually mean a roadmap for the upcoming 2 months? I thought that they are highlighting the success of the last 2 months roadmap and will back up those claims with stats and numbers. Like telling us how the winrates changed, how successfull the class variations changed towards tacticals. I mean there can't be stats or numbers yet for planned features?

Honestly I think if they had a bigger dev team a good chunk of problems would be solved, I mean the rumors are they only have 7-9 people working on a game like this look what we have gotten in that time frame. I'm neutral on the whole thing and I enjoy the game but it does have its faults. Even if they had 20 people this game would be so much further than an almost standstill currently.

Let's face the fact that a good majority of the community in EC what's more content over the balances while the other part wants balance and optomisation over content. With only 7-9 people that is difficult to have half and half try to accomplish something.

Personally i want more content to keep me interested but I also want them to fix the servers and for me it will be good enough at that time. There is so much they can do with this game it's just that I don't know if they are capable of it with the current situation.

Im loving this game, play on a daily basis with my guild or other guilds. It never seems to slow down no matter what time of the day im playing. People since the beginning of EC have been saying its doomed. I dont need any more content added im happy with a simplistic 40k shooter(dont get me wrong more content is fine but its nothing i really need). Just fix optimization so the people i destroy can stop saying they lost cause of that reason.

Alot of people keep saying they want more item customization. That could be cool but i dont need new game modes or anything. If they can make what is currently in place operating at 110% i think alot us who have been here from the beginning and alot of newer players will be happy.

I just want to kill things as a space marine with my space marine buddies. Ill play other GW games if I want something different.
