I've just got my 5th slab slugga (this one from a 5k box), I feel like it's the consolation prize for losing a spin on the slot machine. "You lost, here's another gun to go with the pile of the exact same others we gave you out of the other boxes." I might not mind so much if they were different from each other, but I got the default crap slugga, and then 4 more with the exact same stats (more damage).

you can sell weapons? how, I didn't know that. They're all in my inventory Maybe if you could duel wield pistols I could have more fun with them.
no selling, you can 'relinquish' a weapon to remove it from your armoury, although there is speculation that doing this will put it back into the supply box item pool. There aren't exact duplicates within the boxes, those five slab sluggas will all have different colours or special qualities or something
A lot of weapons are currently bugged and should have different colours. For example, my venerable shoota is the same common shoota right now.
Actually that should be easy to check by anyone that unlocked all rewards from 1k boxes, remove a drop from them, see if you can pick another box. Now if i only remember what i got from those .D
Ok, relinquishing an item put it indeed again in the pool. I was able to rebuy the item with a 1k box
