5-10 Second Freezes

    A theory (sorry if its obvious)

    After you click "SPAWN" or "EXIT VEHICLE"
    Your client (EU) asks the server (NA) if it's "ok" to place you at that location (outside the Rhino e.g.). Now NA checks where your Char is and what obstacles would be in the way (like a wall, or different players during a mass spawn e.g.) if you exit/spawn.
    Then after the com. has finished and the coordinates are ok for the client/server it will perform that action.

    This is half baked because I'm at work..

    But would that cluttering of data cause these freezes, serverside?
    Is there any reports of synchron freezing of clients or rather is it "lag" due to the client/server/engine have to make so much checking before they can allow that action?

    Again sorry if its obvious or not making sense..

    I heard it had something to do with the servers too.. but I live in NA.

    By the way, the hotfix still didn't fix it.

    The first time you load in to the game, it's loading your character's model the first time as you exit the rhino/deploy. This is reproducible by switching loadouts and spawning as that loadout for the first time. That's separate from the 5-10 second freezes we're talking about, which happen in the middle of gameplay.

    Yes I thought so too.
    That's what happens in a lot of games when you change realm/instance etc.
    But I also thought the models are pretty lowpoly/texture quality (by most standards). You normaly don't have a segnificant waiting time during the loadoutscreen in the menu (ofc there is nothing else to load, world etc.) when you switch weapons/class etc.
    That's why I thought the first load in / spawn ingame lags because of the server.

    That's why I thought that the client needs responces from the server - which causes these. Maybe other players spawning in is causing freezes for others too?

    Nathan in one twitch tried to explain the issue with EU servers needing improved communicationswith the NA one.

    Will see how my game behaves with the EU servers in.

    Like I said just a theory, I'm open to every thought.

    Ps: I'm not totally sure, did the freezing during gameplay start with the Unreal engine update? 4.11?

    No, that was present before then, but in smaller time periods. After 4.11, it was more common and for longer.

    I get them every time I spawn as a new class (including my very first spawn)

    EDIT: Yes, I also get the random freezes when already spawned, but much rarer than you get. Like once every match or so about 10 minutes in

    I have nearly an identical build for my comp, the only difference is I have at GTX 950 and I can assure you, that you are not alone. I get game freezes still on spawning, spawning into vehicles and when trying to get out of vehicles, and right at start up. I also get the good ol crash to desktop midway through or near the end of a match still as well. I keep thinking its something with my system or internet but, I know its not, as I can handle just about every other game at 60fps no problem.

    Before they introduced Unreal Engine 4.11, I had zero issues. The occasional crash to desktop but nothing more. I may try reinstalling it to an SSD and see how that works.

    The game freezes for a few moments several seconds after the beginning of every match for me. That's the only time I really noticed a consistent freeze.
