  1. High Adept Zeth High_Adept_Zeth Arkhona Vanguard

    Apologies for being a few hours late.I was too enamored in different matters to notice the passage of time. :/

    Name:
    Alpha - I Agate, previously know as Gamma - XLIV;

    Age: //
    ;

    Gender: //;

    Class:
    Titan-Guard - Hoplites;

    Rank: Secutarius Alpha;

    Blessings and hallowed armaments bestowed and entrusted:

    • Secutarii War Plate;
    • Arc lance;
    • Radium Revolver;
    • Mag-inverted shield;
    • Kyropatris field generator;
    • Omnispex;
    • Integrated vox-unit;
    • Electro-graft;
    • Military-grade exo-skeleton;
    • Various augmentations done upon its fleshform and sacred inner workings;
    • Data-tether;
    • Crux Mechanicus emblazoned on the center of his breastplate in pure silver, instead of the Holy Cog.

    Appearance:
    Over two meters tall, solider of the Secutarii, the heavily augmented and myriad Titan Guard of the Collegia Titanica. Clad in the grey-black trenchcoat of its Forge World, on its left-hand vambrace a thick and ancient-circuitry enshrouded mag-inverted shield rests and in its right hand a tall Arc Lance, spewing lightning and electro-magnetic discharges at command.Its helmet, infused with potent arcane sensoria of the Omnispex device, shrouds its gaunt and sun-starved face, devoid of any clear hair or gender characterstics.

    Backstory:

    Born,raised and brought into service in the cavernous shafts, deep beneath planetary crusts, of Forge World Incaladion.As any prospecting forgeworlder that shows physical aptitude and martial skill, he was given over to be blessed and indoctrinated into a Skitarii Legion.A great honor on itself, from such humble beginings.After a distinguished service of several decades, doing the bidding of his robed overlords on the constantly embattled surface of Incaladion, the unit later known as Gamma - XLIV met its end.
    However, its story and part in His Great Work, was not to be meet a terminal decline in output on the rad-caked surface of his hallowed Forge World.The remains of its flesh and iron was given over to the Cybernetica Adepts, Machine God finding Gamma - XLIV worthy of continued service.
    Remade from a Skitarius to a Secutarii, he was given over to one of the most ancient of Titan Legions - Ignatum.Iis duty now - to safeguard its godly charges, as innumerable phalanxes of Secutarii and their Peltast bretheren thrives in their gigantic shadow.
    Act of Hallowed Binary:
    During the Crusade, upon the besieged Imperial world of Darius IV, Crusade High Command sanctioned the use of God-Machines against the myriad hordes of gangly forms of heretek and vile mutant.As Legio Ignatum walked, so did their Secutarii.
    Stationed beneath mountainous legs of towering Warlord-class Titan Ferro Bellum, Gamma - XLIV, a mere Helot of his battle-maniple clashed with his bretheren against the scrapcode-droning hordes of the heretek.As the Titan above them unleashed apocalyptic blasts of fury and fire upon the enemy strongpoints, Secutarii kept her safe from the insects that were beneath God-Machines notice, that sought to do her harm.
    Protect as they would, there was no protecting them from the noospheric intrusion as one of the Alphas got compromised, his phylactic communion device that maintained an information relay between the Secutarii and the starships in low-orbit, got captured.
    As the immaterial heresy, given digital form spread among his bretheren, brothers and sisters of faith turned against each other.Whenever by luck or divine providence, a few of them held their grounds, after retreating into bastion-legs of the Titan, holding their ground until the enemy stronghold fell.
    In those grueling hours, in the dark, machinery cramped corridors of the Titan-interior were etched into Gamma - XLIV`s as they fought for every inch.Should they fail in their duty, and should a God-Machine fall into the enemy hands, disaster would follow.
    After the engagement ended, the few individuals that were the last remnants of several Secutarii Macro-clades, where instantly promoted to Alphas, given their own maniples and sent to surgical slabs of the Cybernetica-Magi for further augmentations.
    Gamma - XLIV in particular was further commended with Crux Mechanicus and given a bit of precious data from his past life, oh so many years ago on faraway Incaladion.
    'Agate'.
    Now an Alpha, Alpha - I, did not know what the honorific meant, so it incorporated it within its unit-designation.As such, honoring its humble beginings, Forge World, and whatever the word itself meant.

    Name: Zuriel Drakus
    Age: 381
    Gender: Male
    Class: Space Marine
    Rank: Sanguinary Priest of the Sanguine Templars
    Equipment: Glaive Encamine, Exsanguinator, bolt pistol, Diagnostor helmet, black Mark VI power armor, crimson tabard, honor scroll, purity seals

    Appearance: As tall and imposing for a Space Marine as one would expect. When his helm is off it reveals a handsome man with emerald eyes, tanned skin, dark brown hair. At the base of his neck is a tear drop of blood While not the spitting image of his Father, he carries with him the same grace. On his right shoulder he bears the symbol of his chapter, the Sanguine Templars, and on his left the Prime Helix, enveloped in wings. If ever Zuriel is seen without his armor, they would see him covered in tattoos, either names or symbols with meaning only to him, a long standing tradition of his Chapter. When not in combat Zuriel will generally wear pure white robes.

    Backstory: Born and raised on one of the recruitment worlds in the Angelis Regni, the kingdom forged by the Sanguine Templars, Zuriel’s only desire was become one of the Angels of Death, and serve the Great Angel. He trained constantly to attempt to be in peak physical condition, gathering any teachings and scriptures he could from the Sanguine Templars to learn the teachings of Sanguinius.

    When his trial came, Zuriel was taken to a world which was said to be a mirror of sacred Baal, the home world of the Blood Angels, and birthplace of Sanguinius himself. He fought viciously to survive his trials, and fought just as hard to ensure those that were with him would survive, and had nearly died attempting to save one of his fellow initiates. He did not.

    Since then Zuriel served in the many crusades waged by the Sanguine Templars, taking a keen interest in the physical and spiritual well-being of his brethren. This was noticed the Priesthood, and after a century of service Zuriel was inducted into the Priesthood to be, to become a full-fledged Sanguinary Priest.

    Known to be a caring and compassionate man, nothing concerns Zuriel more than the well-being of his brothers and there has been many times when Zuriel has charged an enemy position if only to save a single line brother, and Emperor save any who would stand between him and the holy gene-seed of the fallen. He is also an inspirational figure, able to stir the spirits of his kin and warriors of the Emperor to great feats of zeal

    Act of Heroism:
    During a crusade to the Victus Sector, Zuriel along with his company, the 2nd. The sector had fallen to the Ruinous powers, and as ever the Sanguine Templars were eager to bring retribution and damnation to the kin slayers. The assault on the capital world of Victus Prime was furious, a great orbital bombardment followed by the full fury of the Sanguine Templars, accompanied by multiple Guard regiments. The beachhead assault was bloody, and Zuriel ensured that he was one of the first feet to touch the ground, wielding his sacred glaive encarmine to slay any who would cross his path, and heal any battle brother that would fall, even tending to wounded Gaurdsmen at times.

    After weeks of horrific warfare the main hive city of Victus Prime was broken into, and began the bloody slog that was hive city urban warfare.

    It was during this time that he, a dozen of his brothers, and a platoon of Guardsmen were ambushed by heretics, and unexpectedly accompanied by members of the Emperors Children Legion. Cut off, and with many of his brother wounded, Zuriel led a vicious counter attack against the Emperor’s Children, cutting down multiple kin-slayers in his attempt to throw then off and keep them away from any of his Brothers bodies, unwilling to let a single gene seed fall into their hands. Through this act he inspired the Gaurdsmen to fight with renewed vigor, fighting tooth and nail to bring the Emperor’s Peace to the Traitors. He and his detachment remained separated for near two weeks before they were recovered, the appearance of the Emperor’s Children throwing of the assault and delaying the progress of the Company.

    When they arrived, they would find a battered and bloodied Zuriel, tending to the few Astartes and Guardsmen that still lived, seeming to have lost his left arm in the conflict. All of the gene seed were recovered, and many lived because of his selfless actions during the action. Zuriel refused to be removed from the campaign, having the wound cauterized before returning to the front. Only after Victus Prime was secured did the Sanguinary Priest stop and allow for a bionic arm to be implanted, only after ensuring that he would still be able to replace his tattoos that were lost. The Guardsmen that survived were quite amused by this, commenting on how he was more concerned with the loss of a few tats then a limb. They accompanied Zuriel through the remainder of the Crusade.

    Name: Gregory Danse

    Age: 207

    Gender: Male

    Class: Tactical marine

    Rank: Space Marine Veteran Sergeant

    Equipment: White power armor with corvus helm and red shoulderpads, knee pads and a red stripe running through the cranium of the helmet to note his status as a sergeant. Mars pattern combi-flamer with bayonet, bolt pistol, chainsword, frag and krak grenades

    Appearance: A cream-skinned giant of 7'4" with a full black beard, thick eyebrows and a bald head he covers with a fitted white hood when not wearing his helmet. Danse usually has a stern and watchful expression on his face as if constantly sizing up everyone around him. As one of the sergeants responsible for training newly-promoted battle brothers he usually is. Decades of transitioning initiates from scout squads to devastator squads, from scout armor to power armor, has given him an almost instinctive ability to find and correct weakness in any man and how best to use them in battle.

    Backstory: Danse joined the Boros Paladins Space marine chapter with his friend and fellow underhiver Simus Psyrakon. They were both found worthy of the chapter and survived their time as initiates, relying on each other and fighting as the brothers they were every step of the way. But whereas Simus found his calling as a psyker in the librarium Danse found his in leading and inspiring men on the battlefield. Even when he started out as a devastator marine Danse showed keen tactical sense and the ability lead and motivated others. These leadership skills grew during his time as an assault and tactical marine and before long found himself in command of his own squad. Danse was offered a spot as a sternguard in the elite first company but declined the offer in order to stay with his men.

    Act of Heroism: The Boros Paladin's 4th company was one of the many space marine forces to answer the call for the current crusade. The company was deployed to a hive world that had recently fallen to Chaos. Administratum reports indicated that the Planetary Governor had been overthrown but much of the population and PDF were still loyal and fighting off the traitors. When the 4th company arrived however they found the planet completely under chaos control. The Administratum reports had been horribly out of date and the last of the loyalists had been killed years ago. Danse discussed the situation with Librarian Simus Psyrakon, the 4th company commander and they decided to invade the capital hive and kill the local warlord, throwing the traitor forces into disarray long enough for imperial reinforcements to arrive and conduct a proper cleansing. The hive's void shields were too strong for orbital bombardments or drop pods so the marines decided to lure the traitors out and thin their numbers, hopefully goading the warlord into sallying forth and using the opportunity to kill him. Simus was to supervise everything from orbit aboard the strike cruiser but Danse was to personally lead it. The campaign began with a drop pod assault on a large PDF contingent escorting a munition convoy to the capital hive. Half the company dropped onto the traitors and slaughtered them to a man, Danse at the very front with a gift of bolter and flamer fire to everyone he could find. The marines dug in and eliminated the traitor reinforcements that arrived. Word of the Boros presence quickly reached the hive and the full might of its garrison was mobilized. Danse and his men fell back and the hordes of traitor soldiers and their mutant conscripts gave chase but as soon as the army reached the ash wastes surrounding the hive the Boros sprang their trap. A massive orbital bombardment from their orbiting strike cruiser broke and scattered the traitor formations while bombing runs from thunderhawks and strafing runs from stormravens destroyed any hope they had of regrouping. The rest of the company deployed from these craft and slaughtered the remaining forces. After the Boros heavy armor was deployed and the 4th company scattered throughout the wastes to begin a full-blown guerrilla war. The traitor warlord was furious at this and ordered his soldiers to find and kill Danse, who had issued a personal challenge to him after the first battle. As the weeks passed more and more traitors were killed in deadly precision ambushes and lightning-fast armored assaults. Danse always seemed to be at the head of every assault, gunning down heretics with a rhino-mounted storm bolter or charging in with his brothers with his combi-flamer to purify them in fire. After almost eight weeks of this the Warlord had had enough and decided to go after Danse himself.

    This was exactly what the Boros had been waiting for but their tactics had worked too well. The Warlord had gathered reinforcements from all over the planet including Chaos Space Marines and launched them at the Boros in a single massive pincer assault. Simus, Danse and their brothers had nowhere to run but Imperial Guard reinforcements were only days away. Cultists and mutants stormed their lines in tidal waves of death but the marines gave no ground, each man fighting to the death and killing a hundred heretics before he fell, and his brothers only fought harder for every one they lost. They knew that even if they all died, help was on the way and these traitors would fall in the end.

    The battle culminated with the arrival of a chaos land raider crusader commanded by the Warlord himself. The moment the Boros had been waiting for had finally arrived but it would not come easy. The land raider's assault was so fierce that it broke the Boros armor lines and knocked Simus unconscious with the impact from a hunter-killer missile. Danse took command of the company immediately and ordered his squad to provide covering fire as they fell back with the Librarian to a better position. The squad's bolter rounds did nothing to damage the metal behemoth but they provided cover for Danse to flank it and use it's own hurricane bolters to climb onto it. Danse used his bolter to kill the multi-melta gunner and crawl towards the gun on his belly as the heretics started firing on their own vehicle. Bolter and lasrounds smashed all around him but he was able to get to the gun, throw a melta bomb down into the turret and watch it clank down inside the vehicle. The Warlord tried to disarm the melta bomb but it was too late. The last thing the traitor saw was Danse grinning at him before the bomb went off, blowing the land raider to pieces in a spectacular explosion of fire and metal.

    Danse had taken four bolter wounds while traversing the vehicle and was barely able to avoid the explosion but he survived. His left leg was broken, he had suffered a concussion and the left side of his power armor was cracked and broken but he was alive and the Warlord's army was in full retreat. Danse was immediately evacuated by stormraven but he refused to pass out until he saw the shadows of valkyries in the morning sky, finally knowing that the hammer of the Emperor had arrived. He awoke in the strike cruiser's apothacarium two days later, sore but healed, and Simus was there to congratulate him. He had led the company to victory in the first stage of this world's conquest and received Terminator Honors for his valor. Danse has now fully recovered and eagerly awaits his next assignment.

So they named her and raised her as one his own being the daughter of the Preacher she was very adapt in the field of the church he voice echo'd better than her fathers she seemed to be blessed by the Emperor. Later in her years when she was about 11, one day the Adeptus Sororitas came to the church for on one day to observe the church. Morgan was at the Pedestal preaching because her father was out. The people that came to the church that day were filled with more grace than her father. The sisters saw the potential of Morgan of being a sister, after her time of preaching was over and the crowd had left they approached her and asked to see her father. Morgan was utterly surprised and showed them to her father who had died while she was preaching. The sisters gave that preacher a proper death and after his funeral they took her away from that hive world she grew up on and she became an Adeptus Sororitas. He voice could bring a crying baby to calm and a deaf man to tears. Her hands are delicate and precise her voice as well her hand were a gift of the Emperor.

    The Cost to Save a Life:
    It was one of the first combats in the crusade the Imperial Guard and the Sisters of Battle were fighting the Chaos menace. The combat started with the Imperials having the advantage. The Lord General had been leading from the skies but he had no clue that they had Flak cannons giving them air protection his Valkyrie was under constant assault but the Pilot made an unwise decision and flew straight into the Flak cannons arc the Valkyrie took heavy damage one of the engines was blown out and they were quark screwing into the ground the pilot managed to expel all the fuel from the craft just before slamming into the ground and high speeds. Morgan saw the craft hit the ground he guardsmen around her saw this as well and were demoralized the officers around being focused by the Chaos foes and her sisters fighting off the flanks and the Cannoness too focused on duels looked around and saw a gap in the Cultist line Morgan yelled. "Yield your hearts men and women of our Lord and Savior the Emperor. We will not falter this day. Only the Righteous will survive this day who is with me you see that hole in their line..." She pointed many look upon her and it was as if she had a golden glow surrounding her. Then the guard looked to the hole in the cultists line. "We charge now in his name we will break the lines and save the Lord General. For the Emperor." The guard exited there trenches and charged at the heretics. Morgan charged with them whether it was careless or worth it that was to be decided at a later date. The charge went better than expected once they reached the Valkyrie and a line was established. She got a Tech-Priest to pry open the Valkyrie to see if the Lord General was alive... "It's open Sister." The Tech-Priest said to her. "You have my thanks get the Sergeants to keep pushing these Heretical scum until they are dead I must save the Lord General." Morgan entered the wreck of the the Valkyrie before the Tech-Priest could respond and saw the bloody mess that was the cabin of the Valkyrie she looked around and saw the Lord General a bloody mess arm torn off bleeding out. Morgan checked for a pulse she was alive by a hair but still clinging to the Emperor's light Morgan cauterized the wound the arm was unable to be recovered. She then checked for spinal injury it was not present took the Lord General out of the Valkyrie and dragged her back to the now fall back position called for a medical Chimera and returned to HQ for the Lord Generals treatment. Once the Chimera arrived they left and Morgan got her further stabilized. Once reaching HQ she did the surgery and saved the Lord General she gave her a new arm and saved the Lord General. Morgan sat through her recovery to ensure that her patience and someone as important as that patient. Once the Lord General awoke and was not doped up on drugs she commended her and thanked her for saving her life and ensuring their victory on that world.

    Name: Sister Ferra Tenebra
    Age: 28
    Gender: Female
    Class: Sister Dominion
    Rank: Sister Superior

    Equipment:

    • Sororitas Power Armour
    • Bloody Rose Raiment
    • Combat Knife
    • Chainsword
    • Hand Flamer
    • Flash Grenades
    • Rebreather

    Appearance:
    A Sister of the Bloody Rose, Ferra Tenebra is a short and dark-skinned warrior of faith, one who wears her zeal on her sleeve.

    Short for a Sororita, she is nonetheless of an athletic build without excessive bulk, her body lacking unnecessary fat or the escalating curves of nobles and non-combat ecclesiarchy. Ferra's face strains to be hard, though it is soft by natural bone structure, and more round than she would like, appearing almost vestally kind with a neutral expression on the rare occasion that she wears one, with only a few scars of blade on her body. On her left cheek, she bears the Fleur de Lys as a sign of allegiance.

    In spite of her faith, Sister Tenebra is slightly vain, and keeps her thick, black mane slightly over shoulder length, usually bound into a ponytail and with a few braids. Black eyes, somewhat almond-shaped, burn with a fire that yearns to spill over and ignite heretics – overall, the Sororita is naturally comely, aware of this, and proud to be a finely-crafted example of the Holy Human Form.

    Ferra carries herself with excessive emotion, using sweeping, excited gestures and filling the space that her form does not with her body language and faith. She talks loudly when not in the presence of moral authority, and at times seems more like a flagellant than a crusader – probably overly dramatic, but also capable of shifting from loud and aggresively zealous to quiet and pious within moments.

    Backstory:
    A daughter of pilgrims who died on Ophelia VII, Asha Gilani was taken into the Bloody Rose's custody at a young age to become a soldier of the Ecclesiarchy, and was not particularly distinguished from other initiates beyond her foreign appearance which also contributed to her monastic name. Her lack of personality beyond being a faithful servant, and lack of apprehension regarding danger to onseself were welcomed, though not considered an outstanding feature. More than her sisters, she took well to the flamer, both for its effects and the feeling of its heat upon her face. The smell of burning prometheum was almost addicting.

    Upon full initiation, she was named Ferra Tenebra – Ferra for her unbreaking morale, and Tenebra quite plainly for the darkness of her countenance, though some contemporaries would joke it was for the scorch marks the flamethrower enthusiast would leave.

    As an exceptionally aggressive individual even for the Bloody Rose, she joined their Dominion's ranks in a flamer-utilising squad. Even there, Ferra usually found herself in the frontmost position that her squad composition would allow, quick to include her blade in the spilling of blood for the Emperor. With training and experience, she came to be quick, determined, and quite deadly.

    Over twelve years of service, she distinquished herself in the order where she did not in the schola, and had, among her sisterhood, achieved a considerable bit of respect at what she did – leading frontline assaults with flame-weapons.

    Act of Heroism:
    Battling a heretic cult of xenos-worshippers that had considerably heavier armaments than they were prepared for, and with no heavy support of their own but a small number of war machines. Alongside the corrupted Hive World's Arbites forces, the detachment of the Bloody Rose was fighting a war that they realised they were slowly losing. As a flame assault expert, Ferra Tenebra's squad was present from the very first engagement in the hives' narrow corridors, and had witnessed the death of many a sister, and many a loyal ally among the armed lawbringers.

    The Genestealers had intended to give them a death blow in the battle for the Governor's Palace – and for this occasion, the Magus leading the revolt himself had emerged, the cruel turnhide wishing to see the forces of the Throne end personally.

    Sisters and Arbites had been prepared, but the Cultists had numbers. From every dark nook and cranny, creatures appeared, barely worth the title of militia but the loyalists were dying from a thousand cuts, and eventually, surrounded.

    In the very first line of battle were the Dominions, decimated and led by Ferra – and alongside them, their very Canoness and her last few personal Celestian guard. The Magus and his own bodyguard, arrogant xenos-lovers they were, descended upon them as the smaller group of Sororitas was cut off from the larger force.

    Faith, fire, and powerful human forms were not enough to stop the numerically superior twisted breeds that accompanied the deformed mutant witch, and with a blast of lightning, their Canoness' cohort had perished after hours of gruelling fighting – and the numbers of her squad were dwindling.

    The tide turned with the Emperor's own intervention. The heretic sorcerer produced another corona of blistering energy to finish off the last few remnants of Ecclesiarchial fighting force in his reach – incinerating even his own in the process. Seeing their end come, the Canoness ordered a charge while the witch was distracted with the preparation of their doom. If they died, they would take it with them. Ferra had run out of fuel at that point, and fighting the creatures with her knife and bolt pistol – upon hearing the order, she picked up the chainsword of a fallen Celestian and joined her commander, giving up all semblance of defense and trusting only in the Emperor that they would not die without inflicting a mortal wound upon the Magus. They chanted hymns to the Emperor as they charged past the hulking guardian creatures, Ferra and the Canoness throwing themselves on their leader as lightning exploded around them.

    When the artificial eclipse abated, molten and charred remains of heretics around them, two figures stood over the Magus' dead body, lightning crackling over their armour and blistering, but not burning, their skin. The Canoness spoke only, “From the Lightning, and the Tempest, Emperor deliver us”, as they paused for a moment, unable to truly understand that they were still alive.

    But they needed not fight again immediately. Like a shockwave of fear, the loss of their Magos was felt in the entire battle, and instead of fighting on, the cowardly heretics started fleeing. With their morale shattered, the warriors of the Empire realised their moment of opportunity and cleared out a great many of their number who by now barely fought back.

    The pain of the Magus' death decided the entire war, and the uprising only mustered a weak resistance when the Sororitas remnants and Arbites used the momentum of this battle to start their counterattack. For the rest of the conflict, the Canoness insisted Ferra remain at her side as an acting retinue and fellow warp-touched, meditating and praying alongside her even more fiercely to cleanse themselves of any possible residual energy.

    She would continue to play a frontline role in burning the heretics, and kept the chainsword. After a lengthy war, the hive was reconquered, and inquisitorial servants could begin the process of restoring order to the world. The Sororitas, however, returned to their covenant and busied themselves with rebuilding their numbers. Ferra Tenebra in particular was acknowledged by her commander, but refused any honour or promotion for her exceptional service and returned to the Dominions to lead new Sisters.

    That is, until she was recommended by her superiors to a group she did not know about, for something she would realise the scope of only later on.

    [IMG]

    Backstory: Part of the 54th Psian Jakals, Varkan’s childhood was the same as most orphans that become Scions. Years growing up, studying, and training under the strict and harsh rule of the Drill Abbots, going through the trails of compliance such as the live fire exercise in the Hallucinarium where cadets are exposed to strange visions and false suggestions but must follow the correct orders without hesitation no matter the obstacle before them. When selection day arrived he and other promising warriors were chosen for the Militarum Tempestus to be trained into Tempestus Scions. After three years of physical and mental conditioning, where every training group have normally high death rates, Varkan became a scion and was assigned as part of the Jakals.

    Like most scions, he approaches battles and operations with an almost business like attitude, as if like a scribe going about his duties for the Emperor and the Imperium. Among his fellow scions, Varkan has been described with morbid humor, cracking a small joke here and there at the possibly the worst time to do so. Otherwise he’s a quiet spoken man, only inputting when asked by a superior officer. Within the regiment Varkan was assigned to be the clarion vox operator for the command squad, being the man to relay the Tempestor’s orders to squads and information from them to their Tempestor.

    Act of Heroism: The 54th was deployed in securing the planetary governor and other higher ups on a planet that was in the path of a Tyranid hive fleet. The planet was far beyond saving but the people were deemed important enough to put forth effort in an evacuation. Despite the high possibility of vanguard organisms to interfere with the operation from the very beginning, things went smoothly as the Valkyries touched down at the capital and quickly located the objectives. But before extraction began, genestealer cultists rose up from the underhive to throw the hive into anarchy and prepare it for the incoming fleet so they may be united with their ‘god from above’. Elements of the local pdf were compromised as well, lending the might of their armories to the assault and knocking several of the Valkyries out of the sky. The cultist hit hard, were the Scions had training and equipment leagues above them, they had superior numbers and armored vehicles. In the first few minutes of the conflict, the command squad received a direct hit by a mortar shell, killing everyone other than Castle and the Tempestor though he was gravely wounded. Staying by his commander’s side, they kept the rest of the regiment supplied with the orders and tactical information needed to stay on top of the situation as castle fought opportunistic cultist and hybrid abomination that came at them so the wounded Temperstor could focus on the larger battle, all the while defending a cowering governor. They were able to hold out long enough for more Valkyries and aircraft from the Imperial navy to punch a hole in the anti-air network and finally conduct the extraction. As the Valkyries lifted off, Varkan asked his superior officer when was the next deployment, earning only a sigh and headshake from the wounded man as medics took care of him.

    Rank: Sister Superior (Former)

    Equipment: Two dreadnought melee weapons with built in flamers.

    Appearance: At first glance it is apparent that Praxia has committed some inexcusable deed, or failed something of great importance, as she is tied to a Penitent Engine. Various wires and chemical injectors are connected to her body. Her dark brown hair is kept short so as not to impair her vision. Her body is riddled with scars across her body as a few along her face: A single scar across her right eye, another across her face, and the last small scar on the right side of her lips. Though she keeps nearly all of these features concealed beneath a white hood and black robe leaving little to be seen but her arms and lips.

    Backstory: Praxia was born in 961.M41 and began as most Sororitas did. She was orphaned and then taken in by the Ecclesiarchy where she would receive a stereotypical Adepta Sororitas’ upbringing. Through her training she would be found to have a gift in guiding small groups and an awareness in her surroundings. She rose to the rank of Sister Superior and was granted command of a squad of her fellow sisters who she had come to respect.

    In 980.M41 the planet of Heletine was engulfed in war as the traitorous Black Legion invaded. It would not take long for the Space Marines of the Salamanders, Cadian regiments, and the Sororitas of the Ebon Chalice to be deployed in its defense. The motives of the Black Legion were unclear, but it was apparent that they were traveling from relic site to relic site on the planet and destroying the relics. It was assumed that this was perhaps for some unholy ritual. Praxia’s squad was deployed to defend one such site alongside several squads of Guardsmen until reinforcements could arrive to prevent the Black Legion from carrying out their plan.

    In time she would receive a call for help from one of the Guard who was beset by Chaos. Though she was tasked with guarding the relic and nothing more, Praxia still valued the lives of the men who were to fight, bleed, and die alongside her if need be. She and her squad departed from immediate defense of the relic to aid the Guardsmen. Upon arriving she would find nothing but corruption, a trick of Chaos. The men who had called for her aid simply smiled as they arrived. A gunfight broke out which left the corrupted Guardsmen lying in the streets.

    Upon realizing that they had been deceived, Praxia and her squad rush back to the temple only to find that much of it had already been ruined. Inside they found the forces of Chaos. Fighting broke out room to room as the Sisters pushed inward toward the relic only to find the Black Legion was already within the very chambers that held the relic. Bolter fire filled the air as both Sister and Chaos Marine fell. Once the fighting ended and nothing remained of the Black Legion’s presence, Praxia would find it was already too late. The relic was gone and she was the only one who remained of her squad. The deaths of her sisters weighed heavily upon her.

    With the loss of the relic, the deaths of her sister’s, and her disregard for orders falling solely on her, it was deemed fit that her punishment would be being attached to a penitent engine for the rest of her life. Praxia accepted such punishment willingly. She had failed and caused the deaths of those she had trusted and cared for. She had caused the loss of an important relic, one that could not be replaced; all due to her failure to do as she was ordered.

    Now she seeks redemption for her past sins. Though many Penitent Engines will rush at their enemies in order to find redemption, Praxia feels that the deaths of those who oppose the Imperium alone will not be enough to atone for her failure, so she continues to fight in search of a redemption in the eyes of the Emperor fit for her crimes, and she’ll keep fighting until she finds it. Only then will she be content with death.

    Act of Heroism: In Praxia’s time with the crusade she would encounter several different races and factions. One such encounter of note would have several figures of importance to the Crusade captured by the Tau; perhaps as hostages to bargain with or something else? Regardless, the method of choice to bargain with such aliens is bolts and chainswords.

    Once the location that the Tau were holding the Imperials was uncovered, Praxia and a group of her fellow Sisters were dispatched to retrieve them. The fighting was fierce as the Sister’s used the Penitent Engine as a battering ram to shatter the Tau lines when it was least expected. The Sisters eventually pushed through and made it to the location in which the Tau were keeping hostages. Once again, fighting broke out and with the Tau was a lone Crisis suit which was focused on supporting its allies. Praxia charged at the Battlesuit while it was distracted for the moment. As she closed in it took note of her and promptly activated its jetpack and lifted into the air, but not before Praxia’s saw would manage to dismember a foot from the rest of the suit.

    The Tau that turned to fire upon the Engine were immediately doused in holy fire. The suit would land a fair distance away before training its weapons on the Penitent Engine. Praxia rushed towards the suit hoping to finish it before it had the chance to do any more damage. A pair of missiles was fired in her direction, and for a moment, she believed that this may be the redemption she sought. She smiled softly at the thought before stepping to the side of one of the missiles and using the left arm of her engine to block the second. The saw was dismembered and flew off in an arc but through the smoke Praxia pressed on.

    The pilot of the Crisis suit did not expect such a response from the engine. Praxia sunk her remaining saw blade into the torso of the battlesuit as it tried to jump away again but not before she struck it with what was left of the other arm, sending the suit flying out of control only to land on the ground a few feet away. She made sure to pin it under her foot before it could react and then Tau flesh met saw blade.

    Meanwhile the Sister’s had managed to overpower the remaining Tau. Unfortunately some of those hostages were caught in the crossfire but most were recovered.
