Oh I love me my large scale warfare but I was just curious if we'll have the option to pick our map size before joining games.
Sorry for all the posts. I just checked the Steam page and saw the announcement. The Developers have given the order: DESTROY THE SERVERS!
It's notable that for me, last week before the performance hotfix I could barely function in 16v16. Now my frames are pretty darn smooth even on 32v32 - not the best, but very playable. Server LAG on the other hand... but I'm happy about that.
As it says on the first screen inside your client, this is a test for us to get performance profiling. All maps are 32 vs 32 and it's glooooriously laggy for most. But my framerate was fine, it's mainly bungie jumping. We'll play around with it a bit more, maybe even try 24 vs 24 or somesuch but we'll be back to 16 vs 16 again. It's just a server setting. But this is how you do it. Push the envelope. Fix what bursts. Push the envelope. Fix what bursts. Push the envelope. Fix what bursts. Now we're pushing the envelope. I feel like Fed-ex.
Surprisingly had a 64 player game, no noticeable performance hit (perhaps lost 5 fps average) and I didn't see any real rubber banding issues. May have just gotten lucky that game though.
Wow....dat wuz not gud...I kud smell duh serverz burnin...smelled like squiq BBQ...an' not in a gud way
