its hard to say. im not aware of every game that comes out, but the game's that are lacking are getting way more attention in reviews etc, cos people love to see a trainwreck. but there's still games like Total War warhammer coming out, or Civ VI, GTAV, etc. these games either are finished or plan to release finished.(civ6) the whole crowdfunding concept had a good potential, direct demand and supply, until ofcourse people were behaving like people, looking for the path of least resistance and found out gamer's will put up with a lotta bullshit and the refund policies are not on the customer's side. I do foresee an end to this in the near future. people are getting sick of these approaches, no man's sky being the latest example. It's a bit like shovelware, you get away with it once, two..three times, then its done.
For launch in 10 days I think it's touch and go. Reviews will be mixed, i expect them to catch flack and rightfully so for underdelivering, because thats what they do, no matter if its due to valid reasons and no matter how much they wanna cover it up with short term 'solutions'. On the other hand, so far one can really see that the devs are indeed invested and made several good calls on the costimasations, appearance, etc. Like, eventhough the game is lacking and underdelivering right now, its fair enough to mention that you can see where this could lead to. It just depends on the reviewer if he or she will conclude the review in a positive or negative manner.
I think as long as they get the map system in place and we can actually fight over territory, that will go a long way in player created rivalry/content and buy them the time they need to implement more goodies without outrage. Bragging rights over who's got the most color on the coloring book map is always good for PvP games heh.
Server side problems/hit detection for melee. More fluid gameplay, because more optimization means more people at the same time, so it´s always welcome! Fix the sound bugs, they are annoying as hell. Make ork HATZ or I´m gonna be MADork.
Just played a couple matches (I rarely play anymore, first time in a couple weeks). Observations; Lag is still horrific, and makes EVERYTHING unplayable Players lag around outside, so I can't shoot them; and aiming out of windows on a contested point is simply suicide Melee rapes Space Marines blend in with Chaos Marines (can't be helped really but /: The Ork plasma Deffgun kills in milliseconds; by the time I dodge, it's too late, and despite rolling into cover, I am dead Short match timers and mid-match starts fuck up the pacing and makes shit disorientating as fuck I could basically say (despite my past game time on EC) that my games would be the average New Player Experience (NPE) that launch day newbies will experience against EC vets. The game simply is too laggy/buggy to be playable. Player retention will be very low, post-launch population will be lucky to stay above 1000 to be honest. And you know what really doesn't help? Two time outs, long load times, and, worse of all, when I finally was in a longer game, suffering with the lag but trying to enjoy myself, the game crashed. I did not open the game again, and I probably will not until launch day.
1. Melee, even after all this time, is a buggy, unworking mess. Moreso for specific factions. 2. Speaking of factions, balance is no where near what it needs to be to offer everyone a fair chance. 3. The new tokens/loot crate system smacks of F2P shenanigans, in a game you have to buy. 4. Buggy and unoptamized. 5. Nothing to keep people interested/lack of end game content. My prediction is a lukewarm reception by players and critics alike at best, and a disaster more likely.
Stories like this always confuse me. They happen far to often to be completely false. But I am running a 3 year old computer. Sure it was top of the line then but 3 years is a long time for computers. And my FPS might dip at times. But it runs pretty darn smooth and never once have I thought "this is unplayable".
Same, I upgraded my aging beast to a 970GTX and have had max graphics even on the new Harkus limits running smooth(server lag aside). It has to be AMD users or something having issues.
I have a 3 year old AMD oct core and card. Apart from long loading screens I have virtually no performance issues. There are still level bugs and maybe a handful of bug related combat issues I could count on one hand at this point. Balance is still wonky, but luckily, nothing is completely broken. OP maybe, but managable. I'd give this game a 7 out of 10 today. I'd mention nothing about past failings/broken promises because they've repeatedly attempted to rectify Miguels errors. I gave BF3 and 4 8's/10 because I had endless fun blowing shit up with c4. I'd give WoW an 8/10 as well for managing to take so many years of my life away from me even after the initial 9 rating wore off and I was no longer enthralled by RPGs. And well, luckily, the game certainly can't get any worse - and I'd say it's already pretty good, so a solid 7/10 for launch may be disappointing for an expectant fan base; it will certainly get better if it survives the 7/10 response it will get. If any game can break the 10/10 scale, I'd still put my money on this one.
