1 Version To Run On All Platforms?

Which is why there are even more reasons for bE to develop a single version for all platforms instead of separating the PC and console version.

Usually when that happens, the PC version is the one that gets the short end of the stick.

As Miguel said in Episode 12 stream when answering question, they are making 1 single version of the game that will run on all platforms, this is the part that really worries me.
  2. Why not make for pc and dumb down for consoles?

Having a greater field of view so far does nothing. There is no sniping in this game, anything that far out the map would let us know.

I want all the platforms to play with each other. That would be so awesome and that would increase the amount of players in this game to fight against. It would make the world more populated and interesting. Instead of dividing the player base. It would also increase the life of the game. Even if players start to leave, the 3 platforms (no Wii) combined will still have many players to fight against.
  3. I personally dont see the limitations of cross platform gaming. Typically the console's run in a much lower resolution and texture level, where as PC's are able to play the game at full capacity. When were talking about current gen Xbox one and PS4 I dont really see where a serious issue will come up. Yes a mouse and keyboard will always outperform a controller and a tool'd out PC will always outperform a console game system.

As far as gamepad control schemes I dont really see an issue. Unlike typical MMO's where you need all kinds of crazy hotkeys, games like planetside 2 & Eternal Crusade have considerably less options. Think of it as a 3rd person action game but in MMO format. Modern controllers easily have enough buttons to support all the action types Eternal Crusade will need to function.
  4. Events on Arkhona are meant to potentially be added into lore, how would that work if there are three versions?

    Risks must be taken.

  5. But the greatest opportunity of all time will be possible if all in 1. Being able to actually laugh at the console peasants to their faces!

Like how developers have been doing it since the dawn of game porting, push the same event updates individually for each platforms.

Really not an issue there for any developer that wants to get their game on to the consoles.
  7. For me Ethernal Crusade is a reason to by a new PC. There is no other reason to by a new PC, than a new game. iAnd in 1 year it is about time. :)

I hope the graphics can be tuned to a Maximum that is really outstanding. FPS is important, but only if I have fun watching it first. I hope this is not suffering due to console-compatibility.
  8. You missunderstand. There's a real possibility for some campaign events to be turned to lore, that's hardly going to work if in the PS4 one chaos when, the Xbox one Space marines win, and on the PC the free to WAAAGH wins. Three versions of events would not work. So yea, it's a real issue.

And aside from that, all three operating on one server means more and larger battles for the desired epic scale.

First and foremost, the game is developed for PC, it's made for consoles to be able to run it. But PC is and always will be bE priority. If PS4 and Xbone want to get in the fight, they will have to do it on PC terms.

Then refer to how Defiance is doing it, they are adapting the events in the game world into episodes for the series and they have the game on PC, Xbox and PS3 and on different servers.
